imageGeorgia baseball season comes to an end with 11-4 loss to Oklahoma

OMAHA, Neb. – When the final out was made, Georgia players remained at the railing of their third-base dugout. Leaning against the green padding, they watched Oklahoma players celebrate what they had come here for: a chance to play for the national championship.

Well said Brother. It sure hurt to see tears in the eyes of our young Dawgs. I felt so badly for them. But I salute them ! They have nothing to be ashamed about. That’s the way it goes in baseball. And like you showed look at all they Did accomplish. And at least they beat the TX oil barons !

II think Coach Johnson was a great get by UGA. I think he’ll have them right back in the hunt next year ! I’m very proud of this team. Winners of SEC regular season and tournament and made it to the semifinals. Go Diamond Dawgs ! Come back next year and win it all !

Such a disappointing performance from a team that dominated all season until they arrived in Omaha without their bats. Most wins in program history, 3rd most HRs ever, regular season SEC title, 1st ever SEC tournament title, NO national title. That last one is going to hurt for a long time. Wes seems to be the right coach, but with recruiting and NIL the way it is now, it’ll be hard to win at the same rate next season. I hope he can keep it going.
Also, the ncaa needs to start reseeding after the regionals and the super regionals. Cal Poly should have never hosted a super regional. Miss St should have hosted a super. Ok shouldn’t have even gotten in the playoffs, in my opinion. Georgia had the hardest super regional and the toughest bracket in Omaha. Also, the highest seed should never be the visiting team in any round. One more thing, every sport needs to give out awards after the season is complete. Daniel Jackson was distracted, overwhelmed and worn out from all he had to do away from the team.
    Go Dawgs!

Well, it was fun getting here. We just looked half asleep at the plate in omaha. I thought sure we'd snap out of it last night, but still just couldn't see the ball. Poor swings all around. Did someone put pot in the sour power last weekend or something lol? Oh well.

    Go Dawgs

I’ve been a Diamond Dawg loyalist since baseball camp in Athens in 2001 when Coach Perno arrived, thus starting that great baseball decade! These Dawgs did more than most do in a career. So proud and shout out to my old student from Peach County J. Peavy, LHP #33. An experience he won’t forget!

Bad timing for a hitting slump. And everyone was a victim of that. Pretty much every pitcher they faced just dominated them. Ty Texas for giving us 2 wins in Omaha :-)

They went farther than I thought they'd go.

Reckon on the way from Athens to Omaha, the bats flew out the window. From the first inning of the first game to the last inning of the last game, from the dugout to the plate, the lack of confidence and mojo in the offense was palpable. I truly didn't recognize the team that dominated the SEC, crushed the SEC tourney, and powered their way to Omaha. You might say these guys will be more ready next year, but next year's roster will be 80% new. But I sure tip my cap to this one. These fellas were fun to watch all year, and have every reason to be as proud of themselves as we are of them. Go Dawgs!
