Comparing Mark Richt’s NFL Georgia stars since 2006 to Kirby Smart’s
Georgia has several former players in the NFL, but a recent article by PFF selecting each team's best by position over the past 20 years shows the impact Mark Richt had.

Great article, Mike. Can't help but throw two of my favourites in there—-Benjamin Watson and Roquan Smith. Happy fourth everyone!!!
@lucydog I agree and was surprised not to see those to Bulldogs in there, but then I considered who Roquan was compared to with those franchises — Urlacher and Ray Lewis. Then there's Ben, who would be compared to Gronk. Truly those are two of the NFL's greatest ever …. I'd bet on 90 pct of the other franchises they would have been chosen. Also, Jordan Davis and James Cook came to mind as candidates, and they both might ultimately make it!
I am a little surprised we don't see Mo Lewis of the NY Jets on this list as well.
Really? Richt did well for 2-3 years then melted into mediocrity in spite of living in the smack dab middle of the best recruiting lake in the world. His annual trips to the Outback Bowl are embarrassing. Smart did much better, winning multiple national championships, conference championships, and multiple CFL appearances. There is absolutely no comparison. Bottom line is that Markt Wrecked aka Da Preacha Man did not have the eye of the tiger. Kirby Smart does. Kirby seems to be getting ground down as college football comtinues to atropy and become corrupted. Enjoy him while he is our coach. It may not be that much longer.
I could care less how SB looks throwing the ball around in a practice. Heck he couldn't even impress his own UGA OC in practice, they ran D'Wan Mathis out there and he embarrassed himself, but I bet D'Wan looked good in practice 6'4", big arm and could run. WHat you do on the field is what counts.
SB may never be a NFL starting QB, or a true number two QB and that's fine. It's a different game up there, (Tebow found that out, although all he did was lead his team to the playoffs), but I have learned and most of us should have learned it aint about the visuals, it's about the fight in the DAWG!
The bottom line is the Youth Pastor ("rings collect dust") couldn't win a national championship (or any SEC Championship past 2005) with the NFL talent he had, and Kirby did TWICE and BACK-TO-BACK. End of discussion.
Yeah. Kirby may be counting down the days. Good for him.
WHY?
CFL? Wasn’t aware that Kirby coached in the Canadian League as well.
