In the last five years (2021 to 2026), there have been exactly two College Football Playoff games where both teams scored 40 or more points. Both of these matchups were high-scoring semifinal thrillers played during the exact same playoff cycle (the 2022–23 season):

    • 2022 Peach Bowl (Semifinal): Georgia Bulldogs defeated Ohio State Buckeyes by a score of 42–41.
    • 2022 Fiesta Bowl (Semifinal): TCU Horned Frogs defeated Michigan Wolverines by a score of 51–45

What is McElroy talking about? This argument sounds like a straw man. No one is scoring more than 30 on this defense so we don't need to score 40+ to beat anyone.

How many times last year did Georgia score more than 30 points?

    8 times….

    • August 30: Georgia 45, Marshall 7
    • September 13: Georgia 44, Tennessee 41 (OT)
    • October 4: Georgia 35, Kentucky 14
    • October 18: Georgia 43, Ole Miss 35
    • November 8: Georgia 41, Mississippi State 21
    • November 15: Georgia 35, Texas 10
    • November 22: Georgia 35, Charlotte 3
    • January 1 (Sugar Bowl/CFP Quarterfinal): Ole Miss 39, Georgia 34

We didn't lose because of offense. It was the defense that didn't show up against Ole Miss and that is on Schumann. McElroy and other pundits don't know the details of the team.

We are more than fine. We should be pre-season 1 or 2 but go ahead and sleep on us McElroy.

Georgia had its best overall offensive production (yards and points) against Ole Miss on October 18th during the regular season last season. Just go back and watch that game and you will see an offense that we only saw (1) time last season and that was during that game. It was a thing of beauty. Where did it go??? We never saw that offense the rest of the year, including the playoffs.

Almost 100 yards of offense and (9) completions to TEs in that game. Overall, the Dawgs had over 500 yards of offense.

THAT, my friends, is what I want to see and the kind of production from our TEs that we DID see when we won the (2) National Championships.
