SO, Georgia or Texas?
I do like our chances since neither team plays each other during the regular season, and the Dawgs have owned Sark and the Longhorns thus far. Hopefully, we'll play against them in the SECCG….but they do have to visit Kiffin in Death Valley (probably at night) in November…so maybe it will be LSU we face.
Ugh, Texas A&M has a more difficult schedule this year; no way they finish in the top 3. And no way, with what Oklahoma returns, that they finish outside the top 3. Does anyone look at returning starters? Defensive stats?
@Woodrow…I'm 100% in agreement with you. Besides, Marcell Reed is seriously overrated.
A&M won’t finish in the top four. Iffy QB play and difficult schedule. Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, Lsu. The rest of the sec will be jumbled up more than these 4 writers have them. Go Dawgs!
Of course Mike didn't pick Georgia…shocker…he picked that other orange team that starts with a T.
Does Mike even own a Georgia shirt …and, no, DawgNation gear doesn't count.
I appreciate his objectivity, but come on…
He must like gaudy orange teams.
You can overdo the objectivity thing. Even Nick Saban picked us. Fake objectivity = weak sauce!
Texas has a disadvantage: they’re coached by Sark. He is a terrible in-game coach. Now Texas is loaded with talent they’ve purchased. They have the money and talent. However, in the big games I’ve watched, they have been poorly coached.
"On Friday, the league will announce its preseason All-SEC teams, along with the predicted order of finish, as voted on by the attending media."
Look for a lot of skepticism from the media when it comes to picking UGA to finish #1 (they will probably show up at #2 a lot) based mainly on the absence of Zachariah Branch. What they see is a WR room of unknown players, but what that room really holds is high-caliber players who are a year older, and playing with a QB who is a second-year starter, who's playing behind one of the best OL's in all of college football. There's also the defense that is loaded with talent and experience that could possibly challenge the opponent scoring average of the 2021 team (10 PPG). The defensive production is a major factor that shouldn't be ignored.
GO DAWGS!
gotta love how all these prognosticators are dismissing bama. Have at it boys and girl. I’m buying a few shares of the elephants.
You may be confused. This is a Georgia site.
So does that mean everyone automatically picks UGA to win everything? If so why write or read the articles?
I am watching a replay of UGA/MS playoff game. UGA has scored 3 pts in the 1st 19 mins of the 2nd half. GS had 1(!) completion 5 yards past the LOS in the 1st 3Q's of the game. One! MS just went ahead w/11:30 left in the 4thQ. I turned the game off after watching ERIV get torched multiple times in the 4th and CKS run a failed 4th and 2 play from UGA's 32 yard line. UGA got outcoached by a HC in his 1st game as HC.
There are a lot of questions to be answered this fall before anointing UGA SEC champs.
