Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

This coming week marks a year since Bulldog Nation lost its ultimate optimist — my brother Jonathan. I look back at Jon’s days in the Redcoat Band and other aspects of his decades of UGA fandom in the latest Junkyard Blawg post. Click below to check it out.

KS has a point. It helps to let the backups play
I roll my eyes when Big 10 says they're the best CFB conference. Yes, the recent natty's and playoff/bowl games do pop. But top to bottom, I still don't think they stack up to the SEC in terms of roster strength and compete across the league. Year in and year out, including speculation on this coming year, I believe the Big Ten has 3-4 teams who could on many days beat the best teams in the country, while I believe the SEC has 5-6. And I believe the bottom handful in the SEC would whup the bottom handful in the Big 10. Yeah, I'm a homer, but the week-to-week grind in the SEC remains tops in the land. Go Dawgs!
I think, I understand where Kirby is coming from, when he says he supports a 24 Team CFP. Even though....it waters down the Natty Brand and probably eliminates what Kirby used to believe, was the most important game of the year....."The SEC Championship".
And...he's not the only One that believed that, either....Lol. It doesn't help the "UGA Brand", to run the table during the season....then, sit on the bench for a month while the other 8 Teams build Their Brand through the National Exposure that comes with the CFP.
It's an opportunity for Fans to see Teams play other Teams, they normally wouldn't play....rather than have them on the schedule "during" a seemingly, ever-expanding season. A Beta Test for the smaller leagues and teams, as well as an opportunity to observe Players and Programs not typically on the National Stage. I predict this is gonna upend the way football talent is built and dispersed at the High School Level.
I think we can say goodbye to the SEC Championship week. I would rather see THAT game than most of the National Championship Games I've seen recently. To dump Championship Weekend in favor of...a dumpster fire in-wait CFP....is just nuts to me. Yeah...we'll get a few good games, not unlike the old Bowl model....
But....as far as the new twist in the model....my question would be..."What has been gained?....And, by Whom?". Div1 CFB....in a word...."Unstable"....UGA in a word "Confident". Lol
Agree 100%!!
Last year's playoffs had three teams from the Big 10 in it while the SEC had five…..and four of those SEC teams played each other effectively eliminating two of them…
Easy math here in any debate about which conference is harder!!
