ATHENS — Georgia placed a premium on retention this offseason. The Bulldogs had the fewest number of transfers in the SEC, and thus brought back a number of contributors on both sides of the ball

" Most teams would love to have that collection of talent, as four of those five were former top-100 recruits. Bobo called it a “more explosive personnel group” than last year’s team, giving the Bulldogs multiple ways to attack opposing defenses. "

Best group of receivers (on paper) that Georgia has ever had at one time.

So, what will we do with that group? Prove that UGA is a great place for a young stud WR to thrive or do we not take advantage of this talent and show the rest of college football that Georgia is still not a top destination for the best college WRs???

Between an experienced Gunner, Bobo, and these studs, this is THE year to breakout the explosive and aggressive offense if there ever was....that's exactly what Bobo said he wants...let's see if the Dawgs can deliver.

They have the talent, but not the experience. We'll see how that progresses.

protect passer, receiver gets open then pitch and catch .. sounds easy til game pressure /nerves take over. Hoping for a little more distro on the pigskin

The 3 yard screen pass worked wonders last year due to one super-elite player. We don't have that player this year so until I see WR's that can get open down the field I am not sold!!

It all boils down to everyone doing their job. Which I know is really easy to say and much harder to do. But just keep grinding on the practice field. Take every snap seriously.

I can’t over state this, the early games starting with TN St. should be taken Very seriously. Not so much about how bad the Dawgs blow them out. But looking at any and all failures in execution on Both sides of the ball.

If the Dawgs win 75-0 that’s nice, but what failures were there ? What must be done to correct them ? Are the coaches and players on the same page each and every snap ? All these things I’m sure KS and the coaches will work really, really hard on.

Don’t mean to sound like a broke record. But until our Dawgs show me repeated failures that should be corrected early on then I’m believing they are Winners ! Go Dawgs !!

Bobo can’t recruit big time talent, they don’t want to come play for him.

We may have that dominant receiver in the room. In a discovery phase right now with practices, scrimmages, and those early games will reveal whether we have the on GO TO or not. THe question is inappropriate at this point in time. Ask second week in September. I honest don't care to have one GO TO. I want 2-3 or more who we can trust to produce. AS TR put it if you're the best you start, if good enough you play, if not good enough you watch!

That is my fear…after the way last season ended, I am much more reserved about my hopes than in past years.

Seriously?! Take a look at the roster and players on the offense and honestly say there is no big time talent there. They have the talent for sure and if Bobo is as bad as so many make him out to be, how come he garners so much respect across football. I’m not saying he is the greatest of all time but he takes way too much blame for player choices on different plays (watch some film on QB choices for passes), player mistakes, and ultimately, Kirby likes conservative play calling, especially with a lead. Look at the points scored when he is free to call the game and it is impressive. Going to be a good season but all of this crazy money makes it impossible to feel overly confident and the 9-game conference schedule does not help. Go DAWGS!

I’m just sayin and it’s only my humble opinion. But Coach Bobo might be working a ruse. Key word being Might but with a solid dose of reality as well.

The thing about “concerned about the lack of a go to receiver”. Just because Branch had played at USC with only decent numbers didn’t tell us at the Start of last year’s season that he would Develop into being the Go To receiver.

Maybe just maybe we already have not one but several Go To receivers. Potentials that like Branch was at the beginning of the season was as yet unproved. NOW we know he was a great player. I’m pretty much echoing @GBAL opinion. There are several, several players that Might be a Go To guy. Branch did great last year and I’ll always be grateful for him.

But you can’t have a “spread the ball around to Allot of guys” but only have one Go To receiver. Those ideas contradict each other. What we really should hope four is a bare minimum of four Go To receivers !! And as the season develops we might well have them. It’s dangerous to put all your eggs in one basket !!

Along those lines it’s been mentioned often KS needs to get the backup QBs in as early as possible when we are in a very comfortable lead. I couldn’t agree more !! I stress this it is Legitimate to have strong questions and concerns going into this season. I get that even wearing my red & black glasses. But don’t fret to much to Start. Let’s see how things go good, bad, or in between in these first games.

Speaking only for me I don’t think we’ll have a realistic idea until the vs OK game. That game I believe will give us a better picture of what these Dawgs might be. As for me I’m Believing !! Go Dawgs !!

It will come down to how well GS does after the play breaks down. Can he see the whole field? Does he know where everyone is supposed to be? Can he distribute to all 3 levels? What will he do without his pacifier (Branch) to immediately dump the ball off to?

And will Bobo expand the offense?
