This improvement that GS has shown in Fall Camp could/should be compounded by a much-improved OL as well. They are talented, healthy, and most have another year of valuable experience under their belt. I also like the fact that a former NFL OL coach is now guiding this unit. I'm looking for them to perform at a much higher level this season, and for GS to look much more comfortable and less anxious in the pocket.

The film guy had a session where he was howing Gunner's footwork, or lack of, in a couple of games last year and compared it to footage of Gunner over the summer and after the QB camps. It showed great improvement on Gunner's footwork and throwing motion. The OL has to hold the pocket for him, and he has to step up in the pocket and deliver the throws when they are there. I'm here hoping for the best, no injuries, and GO Dawgs!
Just my humble opinion but I thought GS did pretty good last year as a first year starter. No he wasn’t perfect. Yes he made some mistakes. But he did allot of good things to. I’m hoping and believing he will be even better this year. I think he will be. One things for sure no one will give more effort than Gunner.
Agree !! And they are going against what I believe is an Elite defense every time they practice. “ They” being the #1 Offense vs. the #1 Defense. As has been said many times iron sharpens iron !! Go Dawgs !!
Trying to keep things clean: “You can wish/hope in one hand & “tacky” in the other & see which one fills up first!!!” The old days of tradition, school pride, loyalty, etc… are gone. The Dawgs like most of the teams in the CFP race are at a crossroads. Either they dominate every game all the way to Vegas this season or it’s time to breakout the checkbook & start buying players that will win championships. Like every other professional sport, the teams that spend generally win.
I don't know if I want to go that far, but I do agree with you that, in essence, talk is cheap. We all love Gunner Stockton. We love Kirby Smart. We love the Georgia Bulldogs. But all of that love and good vibes don't mean squat once toe meets leather. We hear the same things about this time every year — the returning quarterback is ALWAYS in a better spot than he was the year before; we're counting on certain players to have grown up and know what to do and we're counting on some sort of newcomer or unheralded player who showed flashes in fall camp to really step into the limelight. And then, the season starts. Georgia will be good. We already know that. The larger question is, will Georgia be great?
Dawgs are not the only SEC team or for that matter CFB team with questions and concerns. Nothing is a Given for all the other teams either. They have the risk of failure every bit as much as the Dawgs.
So it boils down to having faith in Kirby and the program. Last year was a pretty good year. NO the Dawgs didn’t reach the goals they were aiming for but it was not a failure either. NO team will win the Ntl. Title every year. And the playoffs will be like a seesaw for All teams as time goes on. One year they’ll go deep into the playoffs the next not so much. This applies to the Dawgs and every CFB team.
The potential for the Dawgs to win it all this year is just as good if not better than any other team. There’s no other HC I’d want steering the Dawgs than Kirby Smart. Go Dawgs !!
