ATHENS — Nate Frazier made it apparent just how easy things were going to be for Georgia as it opened the season.

Great game Dawgs!! However, I'm certainly not going to read much into this game. These State guys stunk! Happy to see so many players getting on the field. And Williams?!? Holy cow, what a weapon and blocker!
Next weekend should provide a bit more competitive game, as Western KY should be pretty good although still not of the caliber of a P4 program.
Any injuries??
GO DAWGS!!
Our receivers did well against a far inferior opponent but it was good to see the catches.
Something odd though was, despite being mentioned as having a great Spring and Summer camp, Humphreys had no catches. Not only no catches, he had no targets. None. His entire usage was solely as a blocker on every pass. Yes, an absolute strength and need but I don’t know that I understood that.
Tennessee State shouldn't feel too bad, considering that this is the same score FSU had the last time they played GA
Not feeling too good about Puglisi. The Tyler J. Williams pass shouldn’t have been thrown
TN St. grossly inferior opponent. But over all I liked what I saw. Gunner would have been 16of 16 but for Canion dropping a pass he should have caught. Not picking on Canion cause that was very early in the game. And he redeemed himself later.
TEs are the beasts we thought they would be. RBs looked very good. O Line didn’t have any false starts did they ? Protected QBs really well and opened holes for the RBs. Starting Defense was absolutely smothering !! All this in Record Heat !! So yes an inferior opponent but the Dawgs looked Very real to me !! Go Dawgs !!
Not going to get overexcited. But, even against an overmatched opponent I saw a disciplined team that was engaged and getting after it the whole game. Today looked more like the Kirby-coached teams of past years. Go Dawgs!
Good to see so many guys get involved in plays. Nothing but a BIG plus building team depth and more importantly, to me, team camaraderie! Great effort in sweltering heat! Go Dawgs!
I've been a fan for 20 years and I can say this pretty confidently: this was our best opening game of any year I've seen. By a mile. Back in the Richt days I used to say over and over again how "they forgot to practice over the offseason" and it often looked that way. Even if the Smart era, there's been some games where we won primarily because of depth and just a worn out opponent.
That was not the case tonight. Tenn State obviously didn't have the massive talent, but you KNOW they were giving it everything they had and we were ready. We played intense but focused. Not many (any?) sloppy penalties by starters. Stockton threw the ball on target and made great decisions. We got our backups in there early and even got to see 3 others play. Very awesome.
Lots of highlights even from Freshmen.
My instant observations. Nate full speed at the start. Sacovie has some moves. Taylor looks like his 5 star status out of high school. Williams and Reddell are absolute beasts. Montgomery's td pass was a thing of beauty. PJ Dean has a motor.
Can’t say this enough but TN St. was a grossly inferior opponent. STILL as has been said already they were giving their all. And it was the Ease of how the starting Dawgs Offense and Defense just Dominated them !! It was like the Dawgs were just toying with them !! No struggle at all for the starting Dawgs on Both sides of the ball.
There Were some hiccups once KS started subbing in backups. But once they found a rhythm they To dominated on both sides of the ball !! I could give an A+ to Allot of units but the RBs and TEs were Awesome for the Dawgs #1s units !! Go Dawgs !!
If Dano Swinney had any sense of honor he would retire tomorrow. He has run the Clemson football program onto the ground.
It was a pretty nice stat day for the Dawgs. A few too many penalties and a throw or two into double and triple coverage that won't fly against SEC caliber opponents. Overall some good catches and some great runs. Well done for the first game!
