LSU, Texas and Georgia looked like the best teams in the SEC, which posted an undefeated opening week for the first time since 1997.

hello Jared, looking forward to Oct 03 in the classic city.
Auburn pulled out a pulse-pounding 17-16 win over Baylor in DJ Lagway’s debut as the Bears’ head coach…….
REALLY????
this was a beautiful throw by Montgomery. Based on picture the referees had decided to speed the game up to get out of the heat. Both UGA linemen were clearly holding. This gets called back in a "real" game!
@GBAL Yes, it looked like DJ Lagway had brought Baylor back for a win by driving the length of the field for a touchdown before a 2-point conversion stop —- this, after Auburn scored the go-ahead touchown with just over 3 minutes left.
Yes, it was exciting in Mercedes-Benz Stadium to see to desperate teams slug it out.
Amazing. He's both the new quarterback and the new head coach. Impressive.
Go, Dawgs!
Great game, final scorewise. Hard to complain about GS 15/16 or whatever it was except when you watch the replays and he has receivers running wideopen(which is a good things) but he doersn't see them. Checks down or throws to a more covered receiver. He really missed a few opportunitities for "explosives." WE've been talking all offseason about him improvong on going through his prgressions to look further down field. I didn't see that Saturday.
Kiffin showing his dysfunctional thinking saying he didn’t think Clemson would be so dysfunctional on offense but thought they would only score 7-10 points. Laney, you may want to check the stats. I think Clemsons’s final point total was 10. I used to be a Kiffin fan but now I see the light. He is a doofus and win at all costs baby! No integrity! Go Dawgs!
Carson Beck in his penultimate season in Athens was amazing at hitting the first open receiver. In his last season in Athens, not so much. (Yes, I know these are off topic comments, but it was a nice talent to have.) I've long been a big fan of Gunner, but I'd like to see him hit some of the downfield open receivers the rest of us see. I doubt the coaches have told him not to throw to them. Exactly why he's not doing so is beyond me. Maybe he just doesn't see them? Maybe he's not looking for them? It would be interesting to get in Gunner's head, or Kirby's, or Bobo's. Maybe then it would all make sense. That said, Gunner had a good outing on Saturday as did his backups. I'm certainly not complaining about the Georgia offense we saw on Saturday.
Interesting mix in our running game.
To me, the big standout was Nate Frazier. I suspect I'm not alone. He was fabulous. I like how we spread the runs around including to guys who aren't running backs. Bo Walker and Dwight Phillips looked pretty good. Chauncey Bowens, too, I suppose, but the real standout was Frazier which probably isn't a surprise to anyone. Still, I'm not entirely sure we know who our RB2 is. Maybe it doesn't matter just yet. Go, Dawgs!
Did LSU look good more than Clemson stunk up the place?
I was thinking the same thing. Clemson used to be known for their defense (plenty of those guys in the League), so that side laying down like they did for LSU was the real surprise. Go Dawgs!
Whether they call that in other games depends on the rest of the play… they pretty much let those trench guys grab and clutch in tight, but as soon as they extend, the flags fly. Go Dawgs!
Ole miss was lucky to win because Louisville had some damaging penalties that eventually led to ole miss points. Saying auburn’s stock is up is premature because we don’t know how good or bad Baylor will be. The lousy stinking gators allowed 21 points to a lesser team. Grading stock after week one is premature. Not enough info to go on yet, just like polls shouldn’t come out until after week two. Michigan is grossly overrated. Go Dawgs!
The zebras helped Ole Miss with the roughing the kicker call !! It should have been run into penalty. They were 4th and 11 so run into call wouldn’t have gave them a first down. Definitely wasn’t roughing. If the Cards QB’s O line and RBs had played as well in the first half as they did starting about mid 3rd Qtr. It might have been a different outcome.
I watched 2 1/2quarters of the Ole Miss game. I saw enough to know that Chamblis wasn't going to allow them to lose, so I went on to bed. That guy was the most impressive QB I saw all weekend. He's a force to be reckoned with!
THe LSU QB has some serious wheels.
