Former Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett saw the first NFL regular season action of his career, entering the L.A. Rams game against San Francisco in the fourth quarter.

I'll always be rooting for SBIV, but reality really needs to set in. He is 28 years old and the chances of him ever becoming a NFL starter is extremely slim. At this point, we just need to accept that any snaps he gets in games is a big win for him. We will always remember him sitting on the mountaintop of UGA QB greatness!
I know it's improbable that SB will one day be a starting QB in the NFl. BUt somehow I just believe his story isn't over yet and he will one day do what many believe to be impssible. I mean he is playing with house money because he's already done the improbable, not once, but twice. Former walk on QB who leads his team to two NC's.
I'd take SBIV any day over Cooper Rush. Sigh …
How old is Stafford? It's a new day. Quarterbacks are going to play to their 40's with the current NFL Rules and advancements in sports medicine.
Imo....the most dangerous thing about playing QB in the NFL, today....is lousy left tackle. Lol.
Bennett has a good 10 yrs left in him. At least....imo.
The problem is how rare you ever see a bench sitting QB rise to the role of a QB1 on a team when they are already in their late 20s. Yes, he can possibly have a good career as a backup into his 40s, but that is also rare unless he wants to be a journey man and play for a dozen teams or so over those years fighting for that QB2 spot. I'm just facing the reality for him.
Dare2554, maybe SBIV is “sitting on the bench” because the guy ahead of him is the current NFL reining MVP, and a Top 10 QB all-time?
He may never Start for LA. BUT....He will Start for somebody. Soon...imo. He's been ready.
Imo.....McVay and the Rams' front office are trying to determine which style of offense they want to run out of....i.e. Direction post-Stafford. Simpson is a different style of QB from Bennett. He would work in an offense like Atlanta's.
Bennett was made for McVay's style. The question is…how much leash are they gonna allow McVay?. They're both gonna be good QB's....in the right offense.
If I remember correctly....a similar, "loaded quarterback lineup" caused some consternation among the 49'er's players. As well as National sports media personalities....,some 35yrs ago...[give or take a yr or two].
The Situation....Steve Young was Drafted into the same backfield Joe Montana owned. Steve did exactly what Bennett is doing. He worked, prepared, and waited.
Both quarterbacks were MVP-Type players. However...due to his age (imo)....Joe was traded to open up the backfield for Young.
Imo....In Bennett's & Simpson's cases...all LA has to do, is retire a player. But, after THAT...in what direction do you want to take the Offense?...The Simpson Sling....or The Bennett Shuffle.
OR....The NFL's 1st successful 2-Quarterback System. Which I believe is as inevitable as the Designated Hitter and 100 Pitch Count Pull. It's A novelty now.…to get a 9 inning Complete Game out of a ML Pitcher.
