Arkansas coach Ryan Silverfield said his team is angry after losing to No. 20 Utah on the road, while Kirby Smart says his team has inflated stats due to lesser competition.

On the road in the SEC is tough. Silverfield's somewhat true, but disparaging comments about some of our player's lead feet behind the wheel might provide a little motivation for the Dawgs too. The Hogs might come out fired up and keep it close the first half, but I still believe (hope) the Dawgs will pull away significantly in 2H. The Hogs have spent the least amount on their roster than any other team in the SEC. Silverfield is a good coach, but our talent and coaching is far superior.
There are other SEC foes that I expect will potentially give us trouble this season, but Arkansas is not one of them. Katie bar the door and cover the children's ears if the Dawgs lose THIS one....WHOA Nellie...
I share my thoughts on Saturday's soggy but productive win over Western Kentucky (as well as the controversial white helmets the Dawgs wore) in my latest Junkyard Blawg. Click below to check it out.

Good article, Bill. I always enjoy reading your contributions. Uniform gimmicks don't appeal to me, and can be distracting for players, too, which is worse than any impact they might have on you and me. Still, I will admit to liking the all white uniform worn against WKU. Not that I want to see it again. Hopefully we got it out of our system. Like you, I'd love the see silver britches make a comeback. I don't understand why we don't wear them all the time. Next time Kirby comes over to play poker at my house, I'm going to have a framed picture of him in the red jersey and black pants directly in his line of sight while he's playing. Go, Dawgs!
I hope they’ll be pissed when Georgia beats them into the ground next week because one, they are a bad team and for their coach’s comments last season. I bet he didn’t ever think those comments would come back to bite him. Go Dawgs!
I can see about the same outcome for Arkansas this week also. DAWGS are a better team than Utah, DAWGS 48-9..GoDAWGS!
I know the Arkansas coach is a young guy, but dang dude, you don't come in as the new guy in the SEC and have baggage like ripping one of the top teams in the conference (and country) and then accept a HC job with the worst team in the conference and you have that team you dissed on your first year's schedule. That is a perfect storm for a "welcome to the SEC" moment of which there will be many in next week's game I am sure. Glad it is happening at your house, lol. Grow up coach!
Warning Off Topic !! @MikeGriffith Any news on Tyrique Green injury ?? Thanks in advance !! Hope he’s OK !!
dead meat...
As I’ve said many times in previous seasons, EVERY team on our schedule scares me before we play them. Arkansas is no different. A week ago, ABSOLUTELY NO ONE believed Michigan could hang with Oklahoma, let alone beat them. Texas was down by 20 to Ohio State going into the fourth quarter — and won. We just can’t afford to take ANY game or team for granted. Thank God, Kirby Smart never does.
I hope they use his comments from his memphis days and post that in the locker room. Now he's backtracking he didn't mean anything….
“We always start with a negative,” Silverfield said, per CBS Sports. “And the ‘not our standard’ is, ‘Georgia wide receiver arrested for driving 900 miles per hour over the speed limit.’ That’s a weekly occurrence….”
This has to be the #1 motivational quote for our RB room…..900mph hit and run for TD's in another pig slaughter. I'm also expecting a absolute "sack party" in the Razorbacks backfield…..
Hoping the Razorbacks don’t really know what being “pissed off” really feels like yet but will after this Saturday’s game.
