Who gives a **** what the national media may think…. doesn't mean anything between them white lines on Saturday
Completed understand the questions. While I love Stockton as a leader and manager. He doesn’t take many risks, which can be costly against better teams. The 1st 2 sacks against Arkansas were on him…1st he didn’t step up into the pocket…he actually drifted into the sack. The 2nd one he missed the TE for an out route TD pass… albeit a tighter pass, but he did not take that minor risk and was sacked. I like him a lot just need him to trust his ability b/c he is very capable.
I would expect GS to be able to play pretty well against any team on the schedule considering his skills and those around him. The question is, can he play well enough to carry the team to the title? Haven't seen it yet. But haven't seen it from Chambliss or Manning or Moore or Sayin yet either. it will be fun to watch it all shake out. The pressure will be on the QB's to elevate their play.

Haven't been all that impressed with Gunner. I agree that he's a "good" player and when all of the other "good" players around him are doing their jobs it's a hard team to beat no doubt. He's just not a take over the game type of player. No real knock on him and he's as tough as they come.
Kanell has no credibility. He repeats the same criticism over and over like a broken record and is always proven wrong.

Agreed! Kanell, an ACC apologist, is a known SEC hater …… and he never holds back on how he feels about that or the Dawgs!

I posted the following on the DawgNation forum yesterday…. seems appropriate here:
"Make no mistake……..I have no doubt that we will win and we should win big…..our defense is just as good as their defense is, maybe more aggressive in the back seven, but our offense, so far, has outshone their offense by a long shot.
But as Bill Murray said so eloquently in "Meatballs"……"It just doesn't matter….it just doesn't matter"
No matter if we win big or win by a little (not lose, of course!) , the talking heads will make the OU QB, John Mateer, the story……we win big? then Mateer has not lived up to his Heisman potential again…..we win by a little? then Mateer gave a heroic effort in a losing cause ("the UGA defense was just too tough") and there are just not enough pieces around him, blah, blah, blah…….
No matter how well our team plays, especially Gunner on offense, it won't be enough to overshadow the Mateer show…..even though Gunner leads the FBS in QB efficiency, has more passing TDs than incompletions, has thrown to multiple receivers in multiple sets, only has 3 sacks, has thrown no interceptions, has not even had to play a full game yet, was the leading rusher in our first SEC game etc, etc.
We will not get our due until we thrash Bama on their field and meet up with Ole Miss on Nov. 7th for a winner take all showdown!

Gunner is the right guy to be QB for this team, that’s what makes him good. The talking heads don’t know how to evaluate anyone who doesn’t fit the mold of the prototypical QB for this generation. Jacob Eason and Carson Beck certainly did, but we know how that ended up. Meanwhile Stetson Bennett was doubted by the talking heads all the way to two Nattys, an SEC Championship, a few MVPs, and a trip to NY.
The Ntl. Media NEVER brags on our Dawgs, until they are Forced to by the Dawgs Wins. As has already been said they Hated having to brag on Stetson but his helping the Dawgs win 2 Natty’s forced them to.
Gunner has done a great job so far. And for a first year starter he did a great job last year. It takes a TEAM United to win a Ntl. Title especially in today’s metrics. No One Guy or even two are gonna get it done in today’s CFB.
That’s Not excuses, that’s reality. But we as Dawgs fans are very Blessed. Because this Dawgs team has very good blue collar workers across the board. At this point no one has jumped out as being “ Elite” a one of a kind player. But honestly we’re better off with Allot of solid blue collar players than one or two Elite players.
Case in point was when Bowers and McConkey were both dinged up and not at 100% when Dawgs played Bama in the SECCG. Those were our Got To Have elite guys. Though I Loved both of them and they will go down in Dawgs history as The Greats. I think solid depth is better than a couple of guys that are Elite that when injured you just about can automatically chalk a Loss.
As the season goes on we might well have Allot of elite guys on Both sides of the ball as the potential is certainly there. We already have guys that could be considered Elite on Defense. I sure hope Gunner will have a banner season not only for us Dawgs fans but to shut the talking heads mouths ! He’s doing a fine job so far. And he’d be the first to tell you it’s because of the fine play of his teammates ! That works for me ! Go Dawgs !!
