Tropical Storm Isaias is expected to intensify into a hurricane and SEC officials are monitoring its potential impact on the scheduled game between Georgia at Alabama.

No way they'll be playing in Tuscaloosa come Saturday. The cone of the hurricane which could be as high as a category 4 when it hits around Mobile Bay and then straight up towards Tuscaloosa Saturday afternoon and evening producing hurricane force winds, and possible tornadoes, along with several inches of rain. We're not talking about hit or miss thunderstorms.
Yes, I will be very surprised if this game is played as scheduled.
The only logical choice would be to move it to Atlanta, but I’m sure that bama doesn’t want to do that. If the game is not moved, the weather could really alter the home field advantage. If it’s moved to Sunday, that impacts Georgia’s preparation for the auburn game. The main thing is to keep everyone safe, unlike the brutal heat game in Athens (and other games across the country) that should have been moved to a night game.
But, but, but the toothless bama moron said no plans to change the game. It is their state that has the problem so they are the ones that need to own up to the fact that there may be a problem.
They ( the powers that be) need to do something about this Right Now Today !! This storm could be ( probably Will be ) hazardous to everyone in attendance.
If there are concerns about competitive advantages and/or disadvantages play the game in neither the state of Alabama or the state of Georgia. As some have already said Atlanta would be a good situation. But if our Dawgs win which is the goal, I don’t want to hear the Gumps complaining that they Would have won if not for moving to Atlanta.
There Should be contingency plans Already in place. But that would be asking way too much of the SEC and the NCAA. They don’t concern themselves with such “little” details as this. Only pay raises are important. 🙄
Translation of what the officials are saying. We’ll wait till the last minute to do something. Enjoy your tailgating experience !! Hopefully none of them have any authority in brain surgery.
That major storm (hurricane) is currently forecast to go straight up through middle of Alabama near or into Tuscaloosa? Better reschedule a new venue…..IMO. Nothing to mess with!
@Navydawg, funny you should mention “tailgating” because that entered my mind as I was reading all the comments. It would be terrible if it rains 3-4 inches on all those delightful Bama fans while they are attempting to BBQ armadillos and opossums. Also, torrential rain has a way of quieting down a stadium and taking away some of the home field advantage. GO Dawgs….Beat Bama and let it rain, let it rain, let it rain!!!
Probably will rescedule for the 24th if BAMA can get Texas A&M to switch their bye week and play BAMA 2 weeks later I believe.
Not a bad thought…..but that would cause us not to have a bye week before the floriduh game! Zounds!!!😎
Someone below mentioned that if the game was moved to Sunday in Tuscaloosa, then that would impact UGA's preparation for the Auburn game in Athens. It would also impact Bama's preparation for the UTjr game at Tennerssee, BTW.
We would be less impacted than Bama would be in that case as 1) we would have no travel time to get to Auburn like they would in getting to Tennersee, and 2) it is Auburn, for chrissakes!
I like this move the best (move to Sunday) even though it might mess with the travel plans of our fans planning on attending the game (the team should already be there before the storm hits)…..a move to Atlanta would probably not work as there is a Soccer game scheduled there that evening and a move to Athens, and I hate to say this, would not be fair to the Bama team as they are losing a home game but would be a tremendous plus for us!
Mother Nature at its finest!……as long as no one gets hurt by whatever decision is made, I am fine with whatever decision is made……except for losing our bye week before the floriduh game!!! 🤣
Go Dawgs! Hate on rollin' elephants!
Bwahaha !! Thanks for making me laugh !! Nothing like a bunch of washed up Gumps !! When our Dawgs get to stomping them they’ll roll out like the tide !! 🤣
Just a little rain, tee it high and let it fly. Beat down in T-town in t minus 73 hours 30 minutes, let's go pups!
