Miami survived a day of upsets in the Top 10 and should rise to No. 1 after beating Florida State in overtime after top-ranked Georgia lost to Auburn at home.

Miami managed to seal the win in the closing moments. Today was Upset Saturday as Bama, TX, ND, and defending Ntl. Champ Indiana All lost. Dawgs will fall sharply Im sure but maybe not terrible as these other teams lost to. We’ll see…….
"Assume."
"Back into."
Whatever you wanna call it. On this particular Saturday they managed to be the one team that didn't happen to underperform, by a slight margin. Being #1 doesn't necessarily mean what it used to. Let's check back in January.
That should be, "by the slightest of margins."

Why in the world would a person place ND over UGA? Literally zero quality wins, and not likely to have any…
@osmosiphobe Notre Dame lost on the road to a Top 10 team… 9 yards from a win. Georgia lost at home as a 20.5-point favorite to an unranked team.
After that abysmal and inept performance yesterday in all facets of the game, I am not sure if we even deserve a Top 10 spot. Seriously. We need to earn our way back towards the top over the next few weeks. Other than a few drives early and one late, that was a complete meltdown by the team.
Indiana at #6? I just dont see that. Only good team they've played beat them.
In regard to BYU vs ND, it was simply a great ball game. However, even though ND is always my second favorite team in the game they are in, one second clearly remained on the clock when the game was trumpeted as over. With ND having the ball on BYUs 9 yard line and in possession for another play, how was that missed? This appears are a far more egregious officiating call than the non call PI in last week's game in Tuscaloosa.
Switch Ole Miss and Georgia! No way is UGA better than Ole Miss. I see Georgia out of the top ten, actually. The committee will likely settled them at 7…..generously!
Based on how yesterday went, Georgia shouldn’t be lower than 3rd, based on playing terrible with 3 costly turnovers and only lost by 3. But we all know how idiotic these pollsters are. (See above, no offense Mike). I understand BYU beat a high over ranked nd team, but they aren’t a top 2 team. Nd’s schedule should push them lower. Most power house high school teams could beat most teams they played so far.
@David1 I get it, but every team has their "we didn't play our best game," or, "We just turned the ball over too many times" excuses for losses. What has made the best Kirby teams great is they don't beat themselves. Georgia beat itself, not just with execution, but some of the personnel decisions were easy to second-guess. UGA still had a chance to win it and looked like it would before the strange fumble late. But even then, the defense couldn't stop Auburn from driving. Unranked Auburn with losses to Tennessee and Florida — in a game played in Athens. Georgia is fine at No. 5. It's all about what happens next.
