Loser: Gabe Harris

"He [Riddle] also missed a tackle on Auburn quarterback Byrum Brown, which would’ve stuffed Auburn on fourth down. The Tigers ended up scoring after that attempt."
Riddle didn't look like he was ready to be out there yet (in coverage or tackling), but there were several guys on the defensive side of the ball, who have proven that they are more than ready, that appeared to be a step slower than usual and very sloppy in their technique. While turnovers and penalties are the chart toppers, in a three-point loss everything is a factor, including missed tackles and coverage blunders.
They will make the necessary corrections over the next two weeks and come out playing the high-caliber football that we know they are capable of. Not just because of what they hear from Coach Smart, but because of who they are and what they expect from themselves.
GO DAWGS!
The Dawgs have been coached and played games so far this season like they were dining at Ruth Chris, some like Texas Roadhouse, and last Saturday, McDonalds value meal….and we were a dollar short….hope the crappie taste and hunger stays in their minds and mouth for the rest of the season and that motivates them to coach and play like we're dining at Ruth Chris…..especially against The Gators, Ole Miss and Mizzo.
Loser Glenn Schumann - Letting a running QB gain gobs of yards is bush league. I've held off criticism long enough. Schumann is outclassed. If Kirby wasn't there, schumann would be exposed. He gave up 27 pts to a qb would couldn't complete half his passes. Defensive changes took three quarters. Something needs to change here. Gunner had a bad game, but the majority of blame is on the DC.
Heck, you'll see a few 9-3 teams in the playoffs next season.
Auburn gifted the Dawgs 85 yards in penalties Saturday, and we gave them 24 unanswered points. Let that sink in for a minute.
The other top teams that lost like Indiana did so without completely melting down and making so many key mistakes like the Dawgs. Marsh simply stepped barely out of bounds with his catch. Otherwise Indiana wins. N9tre Dame played a good game, although Carr made a couple of key mistakes. BYU proved their worth, and I absolutely love the Bear!!
I am still in total disarray after the Dawg's abysmal collapse & performance. Might be the worse loss in Kirby's tenure.
Loser : the Georgia NIL collective . Anyone that was paid to give that pathetic effort should donate it to charity . Biggest Loser : The Fans , for having to watch a historically bad football game .
...Dawgs melting down against an unranked opponent too (vs what Indy, ND, and Bama did vs a ranked team)
Let's be honest, that was about as bad(hopefully)as you will ever seen UGA play at least under Kirby. Or was it the loss to Vandy that year? I know Kirby is the man and all that and I don't know what they did in practive last week as far as hitting each other, but after that BAMA game which many sportscasters were calling it the hardest hitting game they've seen this year, I would have given my troops a week off without contact. I know ,call me crazy, but they were flat as a pancake when it came to physicality and tackling. Just looked worn slap out.
The problem isn’t that UGA lost but how it lost, to whom it lost and where it lost. As others have said here, back to the basics for the team in the off week. Tackling and blocking fundamentals, maintaining gaps, avoiding dumb penalties, ball security, running with purpose and not “happy feet”, playing the ball in pass coverage, etc.
Saturday was simply unacceptable.
I keep looking at the 14-0 lead Georgia quickly built up then…….zero.? Flat. I am still stunned. Well, Florida is a whole lot better than Auburn…..?
I was surprised that Branch didn’t get more time on Saturday. Riddle may be the future but he’s not the present and Branch has more game experience.
There will be a bunch of 8-4 teams in the playoffs next year which isn't good because those team will have lost one third of their games.
This was the worst loss of Kirby's career. Poor performance in every phase of the game, including coaching. This is the worst because it's post NCs. Kirby didn't have them prepared and didn't keep chopping after the 14-0 lead. So many streaks were ended in this loss.
Quiick question. Was the first play from us really a QB run or some sort of option? Started on wrong foot!
Haven't seen UGA play like that since the bowl game loss to TX. Lots of blame to go around. Biggest take away is UGA was exposed as a finesse team more than a smash mouth team. Especially on defense. Finesse equals overrated. Unless UGA brings its highest level of execution and proficiency every week. Cannot turn the bowl over and expect to win.
Was proud of the way we got back into the game after being pretty much out of it. This was looking like one of those games where the other team just keeps getting further and further away from you. They didn't let that happen and had a great chance to sneak out a win and then the fumble happened. Really impressed by how they fought back, yes I wish they would have finished the job and won it. One more thing, an Ohio State buddy of mine commented when we are losing, "They are not playing well, but knowing Georgia, they will find a way to win it." Great to have that reputation, that was not so before Kirby…
