Derek Ogbeide with some big rebounds these last few minutes, including a put-back dunk just now to make it 36-30.
Halftime: Auburn 37, Georgia 30.
Georgia did well to get it back to four after being down by 16. It just needs to step out on those 3-point shooters: Auburn is 6-for-12 beyond the arc, so that's almost half their points so far. The Bulldogs did much better in the rebounding department as the first half went on, thanks to Derek Ogbeide. But without Maten that's never far away from being a big problem.
Better energy the last 8 minutes of the first half. Need to come out strong to start the 2nd half.
Second half about to begin here. Obviously a very important second half as far as the meaning to the rest of Georgia's season.
And we're tied, thanks to Georgia's 3-point shooting: Frazier with one 10 seconds into the half, Turtle Jackson with one on the break, and Wilridge wide open from the top of the key. Georgia hasn't missed a 3 this half, after going 3-for-11 in the first half.
Georgia with its first lead of the game: Frazier with a 3 to tie it at 52, then gets fouled on a breakaway layup and hits the free throws.
This is a critical point of the game. If Georgia can hold down on defense it has a chance to deliver a big confidence blow to the young Tigers, the same way they did down in Auburn.
J.J. Frazier didn't score in the game's first 11 minutes.
He now has 20 points and there's still 11:57 left.
Frazier is doing great shooting things here, making a long 3 as he stepped back and out-dribbled his man. But he's also doing great things passing: Tyree Crump has hit two 3s off drives and pass outs by Frazier.
Georgia still holding a four-point lead, after a drive and basket by Crump, who's up to 10 points. The lead is staying between one and four points right now, with the Bulldogs not quite able to push it out into comfortable territory.
Officials Darron George and Joe DeRosa making a lot of quizzical calls near the baseline.
Auburn came back and briefly took the lead, but it's tied again with 3:21 left, and the final media timeout.
I'm being very repititive, but the key is going to be stopping Auburn's outside shooting. Especially Bryce Brown, who is now 5-for-7 this game.
Big shots here by Juwan Parker, who hits a jumper and then a running layup, then a high-arching floater gives Georgia a four-point lead.
There's a big play, and once again J.J. Frazier involved:
Auburn has an open alley-oop attempt, but Austin Wiley flubs it, and the ensuing long rebound is grabbed by the smallest guy on the court. Frazier is hit in the head while doing so, sending him to the other end for free throws.
Oh my. J.J. Frazier throws an inexplicable entry pass that's picked off, and Auburn has the ball down one with 7.5 seconds left.
Georgia can never make it easy. But the Bulldogs eke it out again, as a long 3 is off.
Final: Georgia 79, Auburn 78.
