Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I’m not sure where all this not thrilled with Z Walker stuff is coming from. I’m going to be really stoked if we get him. Really bummed if we don’t
Amen, and dont look to hard for the “non-trilled group” as it seems to be a only a table for 2
Kirby and staff have certainly raised expectations to an unrealistic status hasn’t he? There are those who are no longer excited unless it’s a top 50 croot, rich man program problems.
Z. Walker could be special, we really don’t know. His body has changed significantly in 18 months. The level of competition he faces is weaker. That said his floor I think will at least be Justin Young. His ceiling could be a better Herring. We should be excited to land him which also means we keep him away from rivals (fu or the barners).
From Oct 2. (Z Walker for those not keeping up). So, is it common for thrill recruits to be told from the summer to hold off?
Guilty
There. He has spoken.
Not much going on for you this Saturday eh?
I think this take is unfair FPD. Yes there was a brief slow play earlier this year during the summer when that Dawg talk and Dexter was at its peak. Burch also has always been a priority. Slow playing doesn’t mean a player is trash. It simply means staff feels good about someone who may be higher on the board.
I can’t tell you how to feel about Zy, but I’ll be happy when he signs.
Back during the early part of the year. We thought that we we in on Myles Murphy and Bryan Bresee. That and the fact that Zykeivous Walker was 15 to 20 pounds lighter he was ranked behind the aforementioned top two. Now the top three defensive front seven players on what I understand is Georgia's board are Noah Sewell, Jordan Burch and Zykeivous Walker.
We need to remember that these are all 17 and 18 year old kids who are still growing and things change fast.
I like your confidence that we get him
Fair enough. I hope he is all that a player can be. I simply asked a question, and was told it was dumb. I don't want to be nipple-fed the Kool-aid. I understand that players develop at their own pace.
Just confident, not saying he’s a silent.
I will be worried about all the recruits until December 19.
I’d be thrilled to get Zy. I point out the competition he faces as a factor because I know first hand how bad it is. Those were all the schools I played in HS. The same schools Prather Hudson played. It’s private school/small county school football. I’m assuming staff has seen enough through other means that he is the real deal, and I respect that. Hope it works out; I remain cautiously optimistic.
Charles Johnson came from a small class A program in hawkinsville. Same as H Walker in Johnson county. I understand your point, but time will tell how a kid develops
Couldn’t agree more and I actually think that Zwalk is underrated because he’s a late bloomer physically like Zion Logue. Still feel Logue was underrated. We know Jordan Davis was. Some people mature later. I was 5’7” in the ninth grade. I ended up 6’5”.
If your still evaluating a recruit whose body is changing, certainly it is. That kid grew a lot after his JR year. I’d imagine a lot of top programs were wanting to see senior performance
6'0" freshman, 6'7" sophomore... it happens...
I have posted before - recruiting, even at the highest level, is a crap-shoot. I almost feel like the rankings and stuff is a game/contest independent of its original purpose designed to create an industry (scouting and media) out of thin air to predict which 17 year old boys will become 19 year old men, and which ones will still be boys at 22. Whew.
Too many variables! Pollack was recruited as a FB. Thomas Davis was offered after Van Gorder saw him play basketball. Jasper Sanks? Isaiah Crowell? Trenton Thompson? Not the can't-miss prospects their "stars" would imply.
I am sure ALL these kids can play. Can they be a successful student athlete with the downtown bars at the top of the hill and 15K co-eds walking by? Were they socially promoted in high school, or did they truly learn how to learn?
I think you need a SPARQ rating that included parent's height at weight at age 25, grades, REAL teacher recommendations, attendance records, # of girlfriends per month, parent(s)' level of education, hours spent a week studying, volunteer/service hours per week, candid interviews with high school teammates, average blood-alcohol level at midnight on Fridays, and about 26 other factors. If that was included in these rankings, I think they could give us a more accurate projection... and would still be a crap-shoot.
You’re over analyzing this IMHO.
Crowell is still on an NFL roster. So someone called that one right.
Any good prospects at the game visiting Auburn today who may end up committing to the G?
