Concerning Yante Maten and the NBA combine ....
... The invites to the NBA combine have gone out, and names on the list have filtered out on Saturday. So far I've not seen Yante Maten's name.
That doesn't mean Maten definitely didn't get an invite. But if he did it's not been reported by the reporters who keep posting names - ESPN's Jeff Goodman and DraftExpress' Jonathan Givovny - nor did a Georgia team spokesman know as of around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The combine invite list is one indication of what NBA teams think of prospects. And it would be a good chance for prospects to show off for scouts. So if Maten doesn't get an invite, that's an indication of his stock and could encourage him to return for his senior year. But Maten could also still conduct individual workouts with teams.
The NCAA deadline for players to return is May 24.
