Cell phone company

Thinking of switching cell phone company (currently with ATT)...Any thoughts/suggestions .... pros/cons....

    I think the best network is Verizon but its expensive for several phone to get unlimited data. I’ll be switching my crew to t mobile for their military plan when these phones are paid off.

    I am currently with AT&T. If you are also a direct TV customer there are some good discounts and extras. I would never go back to verizon.

    Check out the prepaid plans. Industry jargon, they’re called MVNO’s. But all they are is a marketing wrapper around the big companies mobile phone network. And they’re much cheaper for some people. It depends on what you want who’s cheaper though. I know in the past like if you had a big family plan with multiple people on it,, the big companies were just as cheap as the MVNO’s.

    Some of the MVNO’s, it does get annoying their web site is so crummy. Like last I checked Boom (http://boom.us - I think) was the best company reselling Verizonks network. But their web site is terrible.

    And I actually just switch Mom from AT&T U-Verse for Internet to Comcast Xfinity (called something like that). It includes free mobile phone (they’re reselling Verizon’s network) and 100 MB of data. Every extra 1 GB of data is like $12. But she doesn’t use that much data.

    If you want to stay with AT&T because your existing smartphone won’t work with Verizon or because you’ve got Verizon dead spots somewhere taphat’s important to you, the last I checked Cricket was a really good AT&T MVNO. They were actually bought out by AT&T, so AT&T owns them now. And unlike most MVNO’s, they’ve got a good web site. So looking something up about your account isn’t a huge pain.

    Some MVNO’s, they’re customer service is horrific. You’ll call about something and get off the phone offended. Cricket and Boom do make an effort to help you. It’s just not as full service as like Verizon or AT&T. I haven’t tried anything with Mom’s Comcast acct, so I have no idea how their mobile phone department is with customer service.
