We got a Week 1 24 point road victory against what could be the second best team in the division based on yesterday's results and the laughable performance of UF against Miami! There's room for improvement, but improving on a lopsided conference win is the New Georgia Bulldogs! We aren't that far removed from sweating out these kind of openers knowing full well our season would be over by New Years.

As always, a Great article! But Bill, that's #32 Monty Rice, with the facemask in his grasp in the picture.. Regardless, it was just 1 of a few costly, and uncalled for self imposed penalties, that have to be addressed, and corrected.

Penalties are to be expected the 1st game. But a hit clearly out of bounds by 4 or 5 yards by Divaad Wilson? Excited to be playing and caught up in the moment, but still undisciplined play. Glad it's just the 1st game, and leaves plenty of time to correct the offensive, and defensive miscues..GoDAWGS!

I'm hoping the offensive coordinator has a lot more in his repertoire, than what he showed in the second half. I know it was the first game,

but i believe Jake can handle more. The next two games will give them a chance to expand on the passing game, to get some great experience

for the younger players. we'll see what they come up with. You have to excite the players with more action, where they can make big plays,Jake CAN throw the football with accuracy. emotion is huge in college football ,as we all know, make it exciting for the players, and give them a chance to excel, instead, of 2 and 3 yard dunks. get players in space ,and see what happens, especially in the next two weeks, to get some experience. Make the game FUN for the players! we have the backs to get enough yards, to allow for some fun plays.

Thanks Bill great post game analysis. Agree. I am concerned the big boys either, suffered lack of conditioning or could not produce focus or the 5-20 seconds of each play. Perhaps a combination of both.

Grabbing face masks was a recurrent issue last year. Seems not enough attention by coaching staff. Suggest super gluing the offenders hand to a helmet & face mask for a day of classes back at UGA. Yeah, I know. Probably a violation of student "rights" but, boy, it would be effective. Miss the good ole days!

The Dawgs go on the road and earn a 24 point win. Tennessee played Georgia State at home and lost 38-30. South Carolina lost to North Carolina. Missouri lost. Florida struggled to win a tight one over Miami. Dawgs could have played better. Penalties are costly, and short yardage situations need better execution. Dawgs have two tune up games before the meat of the schedule begins. Go Dawgs!
