‘Thank goodness I didn’t have hemorrhoids.’ That is a pretty hilarious line. Humor aside, I do have a soft spot in my heart for Coach Dooley since he coached during the Junkyard Dawg years I was growing up and later when I was attending UGA. He's not only a great coach, but the type of man I think we can all learn a little something from. Congrats, Coach!
Dooley was a good coach. He had a lot of help to make him successful , mainly Herschel Walker who led the Dawgs to their only N C and Erk Russel , author of the Junkyard defense .
Thank you Dooley for your example and love of our alma mater.
I'm always humbled and grateful to see those amazing few among us that are recognized while they are still alive and well so they may see and feel the love/recognition they richly deserve. Next up, number 34!
Dooley did have a lot of help........But don't all great coach's. Hiring good coach's and recruiting good players is the cornerstones of success in coaching. Dooley was also very very smart...and represented UGA very well.
Dooley Field at Sanford Stadium, has a nice ring to it.
