I thought Stetson looked fine. Don’t forget, he was playing with our 2nd and 3 stringers, in fact, his first pass was to Fitzpatrick who is our 3rd string TE. He definitely looked better than a guy named Eason against Nichols State and Vandy.

@ClintPaschal I agree with @ScoreCheck you and @BubbaBill need to stop talking about football before you learn enough to be able to talk about football.

I enjoy watching Dawg players grow, develop, and improve from week to week. Kirby preaches on that point more than any other. There's no reason to suspect Stetson will be any different. Stetson definitely had some teaching moments against Murray, but overall, there was some good things as well. It sounds like Kirby understands Bennett needs game reps, so I'm looking forward to watching the offense put the hammer down from the first snap to create the cushion that will allow Bennett and the rest of the twos to get important game experience.

If Jake goes down the season is over bc Bennett isnt good enough to take the team and win it all. He's good on the sideline

Difficult situation if JF goes down for any significant time but it is really back to the "Normal" that any team would be in if they lost a starter. Not many times you see what Bama and UGA have been thru recently with multiple 5 stars QB's on a roster and unlikely to see it in the future with the portal shuffle policies in place. Thats football! Just keep our fingers crossed and hope thatif it happens, backups will be adequate and the massive OL and top quality backs can pick up the slack.

And this "all or nothing" "season is over" attitude by some,, stinks!

Arkansas State might be better than Vanderbilt and Georgia only beat them by 24, though it should have been 34. This game might be too close for Stetson to get practice.

I think that Jake is, by far, the more gifted quarterback of the two. There's a reason a starter is a starter and backups are backups. The better player, in the eyes of the COACH, is what determines that. Stetson had never taken a snap in a UGA game before last Saturday. If you remember, Jake threw an interception in the Notre Dame game that hurt us badly, but he came back and has more than made up for it. Let's not throw bricks at a kid who is working his A$$ off for UGA. I hope that none of our players get injured but, if Jake is hurt, next man up, just like any other position.

And what exactly was incorrect about my comment? Was Stetson playing with the starters? Did we have to bring Lambert in the game at the end to bail Eason out in his first home start against Nichols State? Did Eason lose his next home start against a lousy Vandy team? In both games Eason played the entire games with the STARTERS....not the bench warmers like Stetson had to do. This isn’t an attack on Eason because he’s a great guy and I wish he was still in Athens. Dawgfan623, it looks like it’s YOU who needs to learn more about football before slamming logical comments.

Stetson Bennett may be a decent kid and maybe even a decent quarterback, but if something happens where he has to be the starting quarterback for any significant amount of time, our chances of winning the SEC championship and/or the National Championship are nil. To those who say it shouldn't be an "all or nothing' kind of season, I say, tough. That's just the way it is at Georgia now. CKS has raised expectations (which I'm glad about) and top recruits are not coming to Georgia to have "good seasons" and just to "play in a bowl game." Our goals are now national in scope and I, for one, am glad they are. If you want to run with the big dogs, then you have do what the big dogs do -- and big dogs win, in SPITE of whatever else happens. I thought Bennett did OK last week, but just like folks kept harping on Zamir White's fumble at Vandy, the PIck 6 just cannot happen. Period. I hope Bennett plays this Saturday and EVERY Saturday, quite frankly, because it hopefully means Georgia is destroying the opposition. Go Dawgs!

Stetson will be an able backup if he needs to come in. Not a game changer, but we don't need him to be

Stetson had one pick 6 but would have also had a second interception had the defender not had butter fingers, any other title contending or even SEC defense would have had two interceptions last Saturday. I am more nervous about our chances AFTER seeing Stetson play on the big stage.
