imageWATCH: Kirby Smart proud Bulldogs able to 'chop wood' in win over Kentucky

ATHENS — Georgia coach Kirby Smart gets paid to win games and compete for championships, so there wasn’t a lot of second-guessing after a 21-0 win over Kentucky. Smart has never been too concerned with style points, and especially not on a night of torrential rain and wind gusting up to 20 mph during the No.

I watched the SCjr game and Columbia weather was nothing like what we faced in Athens.

I was hoping against hope that we'd be able to have some kind of pass attack.

As I said on another thread, maybe the coaches are calling plays based on what they see in practice.

Come on coaches, get these guys coached up!

Kirby will now realize that the run game in his mind was successful against that powerhouse Kentucky.

So for the next two weeks he and Coley will come up with a fool proof game plan to beat Florida..............first down run up the middle...second down run up the middle ......third down incomplete pass or get sacked, and if that does not work in the first half keep doing it in the second half and show Florida that if nothing else we are predictable and if it don't work .....don't fix it !!!!!!!.

I saw TEs running routes all day and doing no more to get separation than Robertson and the WRs forcing Fromm to drop it off or take off.

FL and SC played in the same conditions or worse and Trask was 21-33 for 200 yds and Hilinski was 17-34 for 170. Fromm was 9-12 for 35??? ****??? Unless the defense can really clamp down and get some turnovers, we are going to get killed in the WLOCP in two weeks. And I don’t buy this is all the receivers fault. I am ready to see what Stetson Bennett can do. He can’t be any worse.

I'm glad we got the win and hope the players determine the outcome of the game in Jacksonville. UF got a huge undeserved win at SC with the help of some blind officials that turned the game. Now, TN is getting hosed by the most hapless officiating crew in the SEC!

Chopping wood is great, but if you don't have a spark to light a fire, all that wood is useless.

    Go Dawgs!

Jake Fromm is just not athletic enough to put pressure on a defense. The UK safety dropped back 22 yards and covered all that ground before Fromm could get a first down....that matters. When you don't have an elusive QB the defense can play much tighter and that is what is happening to UGA.

I watched both games. Weather definitely appeared worse in Athens, on television. That being said, that was an uninspiring game plan. I don’t think it’s Fromm.

"Well, if you handle it (mud) best, you will PROBABLY come out on top:" Smart said. What encouragement......such a winning attitude. (tongue in cheek). This coach slays me......what a cheerleader. No more words.

I don’t think I ever heard a coach whose team went 4 quarters and 2 OT periods without scoring a TD. Lose to a non ranked opponent at home and be tied with a glorified high school team with a WR at Qb, be as confident that there isn’t a problem as CKS. He is the master of 1000 excuses when it come to offense. I’m in agreement with most on this board, he acts like this was the first time a football game was ever played in the rain. I would be concerned if my one time Heisman hopeful Qb had only 35 passing yards in a complete game played in any condition. I’m just hoping that this is just a Façade that Kirby is putting on for the media and change is actually coming but I would be lying if I actually believed that and Kirby wasn’t convinced that this offense isn’t broken right now.
