Think back to preseason and how all the talking heads had GA doing great things. Well GA made fools out of them and just might assume this slight on our players is pay back. I could care less about them, but I do feel for our players and think they did have an amazing season and should be recognized for their effort and accomplishment.

It hurts the players who really worked hard. But I place no stock in these things at all...even if UGA players had been selected. Too much emphasis on one dominant player.

I think JR Reed should have beaten out his cousin Nigel Warrior to the spot. I mean, Reed's only a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award.

Kirby needs to go to the Dabo Swinney school of whining. Seriously, everything Georgia seems tainted a bit this year, what gives?

There is no way that the league's leading defense has zero players on the first team all-conference team, especially given that Missouri has two. I mean, give me a break. No one on UGA was a superstar but clearly, they played top-notch football.

Speaking on the other side of the ball, though, notice that Kentucky had not one, but two first-team offensive linemen. I'm telling you, they didn't get much hype, but the Kentucky O-Line was strong this year. Go look at their rushing stats and see what I mean. Sure Lynn Bowden is talented and shifty, but you don't run for yardage like that without some great blocking up front. I don't know who their O-Line coach is, but Kirby should give that guy some SERIOUS consideration. He obviously knows what he's doing.

No big deal - defence is a team game, and we had a very good team. That's what counts.

And I don't really care about all star teams unless they're selected by the coaches (who actually know).

I agree with @jackbmatt . Kirby's defenses aren't really built to generate a lot of spectacular stats. They play very solid, but unspectacular. If he had more help on offense we might have held LSU to a lower score. He actually coaches a lot like Belichek. Belichek's defense is playing awesome this year, but who stands out? He's very good at getting results with castoffs that nobody else seems to want.

We have a lot of very good players on our defense, but we don't seem to generate a lot of turnovers or sacks, which is what the awards people look for. Unfortunately there are no awards for team defenses. Not a big deal to me. The NFL watches and will reward them soon enough....
