I thought we did sign a 5 star on signing day. Sherman? Streak continues?

If we get Ringo and Washington then it has been another stellar year without them its been a good year recruiting

    Isn't Mikhail Sherman a 5 star?

Looks like a good early signing day class. Coaching and player development will be the ultimate test on whether these guys live up to expectations.

All I know is we need a good dual threat QB who has an accurate arm. A non-mobile drop back passer ain't gonna cut it any longer in this day and age of college ball. Beck better have some wheels and be big enough to take some hits while giving a few himself.

    GO DAWGS!!

Ringo and Washington would be huge, but we need to also be concerned about keeping the 2 OL commits who didn’t sign. If we miss on all 4 then our class ranking will drop 3-4 places. Go Dawgs!!!

I dunno, sometimes it seems that "fireworks" equals "drama". It always seems that the players that we wind up calling DGD that help us day in and out are the ones that sign early with no fanfare. I know that everyone is in negative mode and it's sad really - we clearly had no shot to beat LSU and so making the playoffs would be pointless - but this is a GREAT class. I still don't really understand the WR situation - we've gotten two or three 4-Star WRs every year, but seem to get a passing game going. For comparison, Cager was a 3-Star and just the 45th best WR of the year. Must be play calling.

Mekhail Sherman is definitely a 5 star linebacker. Also, Broderick Jones, a hard commit but did not sign early, is a 5 star offensive tackle. 24/7 has Kelee Ringo, a 5 star corner, as a 92% lean toward UGA, and has Darnell Washington, 5 star 6'7.5" athlete as an 82% lean to UGA. So, hopefully, we end up with 4 5 stars. If not, so what? We need to coach up what we have.

We better have some receivers that have the ability to get open and catch the ball (two very good skills for a WR) or even a third year QB with a career completion percentage of 70+% (the same completion percentage as this year's Heisman winner) will fall to near 50% when his one receiver that can consistently get open and catch the ball gets injured.

Losers: those that predicted that no blue chip WRs would ever sign with UGA because of Kirby's and Coley's offense.

  • He means an uncommitted 5star.... like a surprise or a flip.....

And yes hopefully these 4 wrs can catch..... .👌

How fun would it be to see both Ringo and Smith in Red and Black race to see who is faster. Both of those kids are super quick for their size and they play on alternate sides of the ball! Still praying that Washington and Ringo make the right decision.

Mathis has me really curious. His height and build suggest he could be a very mobile QB, and he has had a year to study our system and get familiar with the players and staff. If he's cleared for contact by spring drills it seems like he could challenge for the starting job if Fromm decides to move on.

    Sherman is a 5-star.

Its hard to put a huge amount of stock into these player ratings. Yes you would prefer to pick up the best perceived players out there but it truly comes down to how do they respond with being on a team where everyone is great and your not the star anymore, and how well the coaching staff is to develop your talents. Georgia easily has the talent to win a national championship but need the discipline and execution from the players and coaches to get there again. If Clemson can make it to the national championship without having a top 5 ranked recruiting class starting in 2015 to last year, i think Georgia can do it. BTW... this is the first time Clemson has broke the top 5 in recruiting and yes, they really don't have a hefty regular schedule but they must be doing something right in the development department to play at a high level.
