Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

We are going after NT McKinley Jackson but we are way behind LSU, Ole Miss and Bama.
Yeah he would be nice, but is there a another guy like Jordan Davis out there that has big size to eat double teams?
IF true, two physical altercations with a coach and he still ends up on the team, I will be disappointed that we have erased any standards to wear the G as long as you are deemed talented enough. (Especially after Cox rumored to have done the same)
I get what everyone is saying regarding the kid’s situation/background, but perhaps we don’t need to perpetuate the pass/excuses he has been afforded (already once by Uga) due to his talent which likely help create this situation in the first place.
If he really wants to be a dawg, let him go to JC for a year and prove he can be a good kid and teammate and bring him in after. Actions much louder than any words at this point.
Time will tell...trust the KANG.
In your hypothetical: the NCAA would count Evans to UGA in this class and Evans would have to sit out a year. Evans would appeal to be immediately eligible under the circumstances. Even if he got it UGA could still lose the scholarship (for complicated reasons).
However....
While I do believe that the NLI was signed and delivered to the NCAA, I have no idea what the reason for the holdup really is. If he sent the letter and UGA turned him away I think he’d easily win an appeal for immediate eligibility. And UGA would still be charged for the scholly (but just for the year. They’d be able to catch up next cycle).
Why is it that people like to take responsibility away from young people. He may have gone after his coach in a physical manner not once but twice, and you want to blame the coach. I don't know what happened, but to blame the coach when you dont know is irresponsible. Nobody that I have heard with actual knowledge has come out in defense of Evans and his actions. If people with knowledge of what happened thought the coach acted inappropriately it would be all over the place. People love to bash educators when they are wrong.
Thanks for the clarification
If anybody has an answer, I would look to @Denmen185 who seems to have a really good handle on numbers and all of the nuances that relate to the 25/85 limits.
Are we gonna delve back down the rabbit hole of: IF this guy who MAY be signed with us did something that we have no evidence of....how should we FEEL about it?
Insiders say it will be done one way or another soon..what's the point of doing the autopsy now?
agreed, think its been touched on a lot that we have no clue what happened or whats going on. Could just be him waiting to start classes tuesday to show he doesnt want spotlight, so many things. Just wait it out ladies and gents.
What if Kang is luring other schools into trying to talk to our favorite RB croot even though he's already signed so he can report them for recruiting violations? Revenge for the namby pamby shite Dabo has been doing to us. I for an I a toof for a toof.
Kang gonna Kang, 3D underwater chess not checkers.
I want Evans in the fold. Load up w talent and if it works great if it don’t who cares... worst case scenario we get something like we got with Crowell. Dell and Kirb can and hopefully will handle it.
On a side note, Id like to see the all star games moved back to the Early signing period week. Move ESD to Thurs-Sat.. UA game would be on Fri and the “Army” AA game on Saturday. Kids could sign on national TV and have their time in the spotlight. Also the Early enrollees wouldn’t be rushed to get moved in and start classes like some of those were who played out in Texas.
UGA wouldn't completely lose the scholarship in this case. They would be able to offer that scholarship to another player., but it wouldn't open up another spot in this recruiting class. They would be charged with an initial counter for this cycle, but the scholarship remains available to use.
If Evans signed an NLI and doesn't enroll at UGA, our max is reduced to 24 this year. It works just like a non-qualifier.
And it doesn't change the 85 limit.
This has become a mess
Herring is coming back for his senior year!
