If you're going to play a tough one, might as well be the first game since SEC championship game will be 3 months down the road. Sportswriters and selection committee have short memories.
I'm tickled pink to open against Clemson next year, but we've got our hands more than full with Bama, Florida, Auburn, and the rest of the SEC this year. Stay focused Dawgs!
There is lots of forgiveness and wiggle room when it is the first game...as the NCAA college ranking committees have shown through the years. McGarity is behind this renewed Clemson rivalry slated for 2021. It is a good move. Smart believes so as well. It enriches not only the schedule but the brand. Top teams playing other top schools. That is what college football is about...preparing many of these eager youngsters for an early-round NFL draft pick.
Dawg's had to pay $1.8 million to buy out of their game with San Jose State. Anybody know how much they will get to play this game?
