Otis Reese calls out Kirby Smart, says that Georgia is opposing his transfer appeal to Ole Miss
While much of the college football landscape has turned its attention to Cade Mays and what the SEC will do regarding his appeal to play, Otis Reese is still awaiting word on whether or not he will be able to play at Ole Miss. And Reese went public on Tuesday night discussing his time at Georgia as well as the fact

Who knows the truth...but seeing he’s the only kid that’s alleging this, my feeling is he’s using the Justin Fields strategy to get approved. Either way, very sad!
Because when you want to get away from systemic racism, the first place that comes to mind is Old Miss. Did this guy ever pick up a history book?
Fields was exposed to such a racist environment that he came back to watch us scrimmage
History in the making. Otis Reese might be the first black man ever to escape his "never-ending" experiences of racism by moving TO the state of Mississippi.
Huh....alright lets get to the bottom of this asap. But i do think the kids should be able to play this year its a freebie.
Some of yall not gon believe even if they had video. The Athens police targets the football team all the time. They will sit right outside the bar watch the underage kids go in and pick a football player to lock up. I don't blame Kirby for trying to get him to stay we needed the depth
Unfortunately the negative incidents O Reese experienced occur everywhere, only a small fraction of them are ever brought to light. I support his ability to transfer where he pleases, but I disagree that an undergraduate in conference transfer should be given immediate eligibility. If you choose to play for a fellow SEC program, then you should have to sit a year.
Both are most likely true......he did experience racism at UGA and he is using this to get his waiver approved. I am a black man and I laughed at the whole escape to Ole Miss jokes. They should just make the transfer laws uniform and binding and leave it at that. No inter-conference transfers period without 1 season sit out, not 1 year.
Based on all the news stories of players being arrested I’ve long suspected the police target football players. However, I don’t believe it is a “racist” act simply because some of those players happen to be African-Americans.
Racism still happens. But if it is so egregious at UGA why isn’t the team in open revolt?
I feel for anyone whose experience in the world is as Otis describes. However, given all the coaches of color at UGA it is hard to believe he had nowhere to voice his concerns.
As for his transfer, the players know they can choose to transfer to any school in the nation and will not be blocked by UGA and the SEC—any school outside of the conference.
If you know this, why seek out the one school in a state known for its racist past? A state where fans still display a racist flag when tailgating? That confederate battle flag is everywhere in Mississippi. It doesn’t make much sense to choose that school.
With all that said—college football has a big problem with the transfer rules. How do they prevent the sport from becoming a true minor league for the NFL? If players are paid, and they are allowed to become free agents when they want—that moves away from amateur status. Universities need to decide if that is what they really want. They want the money—but can’t profit off players and still call them amateur. They need to decide fundamentally what football will be at their institutions.
