I thought it was a NCAA violation to solicit a player that isn't in the portal?

I disagree that Arik would have to sit out. The SEC waved the magic wand on Cade and others due to the Covid insanity of this past season. The last time I looked the pandemic is at full throttle and Arik wants to be closer to home. Baton Rouge is a heck of a long way from his home in Marietta so I think the SEC would allow him to immediately play in Athens. Also, he could claim that LSU is a “hostile environment” like Cade Mays did because of all the issues related to recruiting, sex abuse, etc that are haunting the Tigers. Go Dawgs and Go Arik!!!
