If a HC is at the flagship institution in the top recruiting state in the country (Mullen/UF) and has no choice but to use the portal to bring in other schools’ disciplinary problems and malcontents to supplement his roster in order to be competitive, that should be a huge red flag to the fan base.

Another way Kirby uses the portal is he endeavors to bring in high character players who want to be developed for the next level and want to showcase their talents on a bigger stage. He doesn’t bring in rejects and head cases that need a landing spot.
