    OK, let me just get WAY out there, since this is preseason and this is what we love to do.

    A little-discussed aspect of the way coaches have embraced and handled the Transfer Portal: Kirby Smart (forget his game-day work for a moment, which is suspect) is looking a lot like an NFL head coach.

    It's about ROSTER and DRAFT and then you add in the on-the-field aspect.

    I, for one, do not believe KS is a defensive genius. He coached in a system and did a great job.

    What I DO believe is that: (a) he is a shrewd evaluator of talent (at least for recruiting purposes), (b) he is an even better evaluator and facilitator of moving players via the "transfer portal" (which in NFL terms is called something else), and (c) is never going to "rule" the SEC.

    I believe his future is in the NFL. And that he will do VERY well.

    Yeah, I know, just thought I'd spice up a Tuesday with some red meat. I know I'm insane but, unlike others, I readily admit it.
