They talk about the launch being an indicator of targeting and to this day I still don’t see it. Cine was coming at what would of been his torso and never changed his trajectory, Pitts curled up to absorb the hit. Like that it keeps kids safe; but HATE the way this rule plays out on game days.

A great hit. I totally agree that the receiver curled up to absorb the impact, kinda like stepping into the line of fire. I guess players should be taught to aim for the knees. I think the results would not be good for the game of football, but there would be no chance of making incidental contact with the head.
I will say it again. REDUCE the protective equipment. The improvements in padding and helmets allows tougher hits. Go back to leather helmets. If you risk significant injury on yourself, you will be less willing to lay the hammer down on someone else. Rugby and Australian rules football players wear very little, if any padding. I don't hear of a rash of concussions or any pansy targeting calls.
Both of Cine's feet were on the ground when he hit. No way you can "launch" with that condition. Also, he hit with his shoulder and the side of his helmet. There was no crown involved.
This was a bad call on a brutal, but fully legal" hit.
