Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

Arik Gilbert’s mentor: ‘He needs your prayers and your positivity’
Terrence Edwards, one of UGA’s greatest all-time receivers, has a message for Bulldogs fans about Arik Gilbert.

Well said by TE. Sounds like a solid mentor for Arik. The vast majority of Dawg fans are behind AG 100% and hoping he finds the strength he needs to realize the potential of his life. Social media is instant innuendo. Everybody take a deep breath and relax. The young man will regroup and rebound/excel.
Well said Terrence Edwards. Sending my thoughts, prayers, and blessings out to Arik and his family. We will be hear to cheer you on as you get through your situation.
Arik’s well being and quality of life are far more important than feeding us fans entertainment. When he gets back he’ll be back. We as fans can wait. And in the mean time be praying for him and supporting him just like Terrence Edwards said. The vast majority of Dawg Nation has always tended to look out after their own and many times even outside of Dawg Nation when people are in some type of trouble or dilemma . I’m confident that trend will continue. Just ignore the small few who are so demanding and critical. Those are the type people who tend to criticize anyone and everyone but themselves . Praying for you Arik and wishing you the best. Take good care of Yourself first. Dawg Nation will be glad to see you when you get back and we believe you have a bright future in front of you !!
Nobody else can know what each one of us is dealing with. Just give it to God and listen for his guidance.
Get well soon Arik. And pay no attention to the negative...
Amen
Thanks Terrence…..your comments were much needed. Go Dawgs and Good Luck Arik!!!
If the Gilbert family reads this. Please know that the VAST Majority of Dawg Fans just want what is best for your son and grandson. As Mr. Edwards stated, it is none of our business. And the good news is that he has a coach that truly has HIS best interest at heart.
I'm about as big of a Dawg fan as they come, but would never want/put a players physical or mental health at risk just to win a football game. Kirby preaches family all the time. It is embraced by the players, coaching staff and all that support that group. 99% of the fan base gets that, but you are always going to have that 1% of '****' that always seem to be the most vocal.
Y'all do what is best for Arik. Football can wait.
God bless...
Philippians 2:1-30 ESV
So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, ...
I couldn't agree more with Mr. Edwards. This personal issue is between Arik, his family, and those Arik decides to include in that group..Period. Prayers, and best wishes for your future Arik..GoDAWGS!
Praying for Arik and his family.
Praying for Arik to embrace all the ways God has blessed him, physically, mentally and spiritually. I pray that God, who has all wisdom, would continue to bless him so that he will know that he has an earthly purpose that is not liminal, but is being inculcated to him to bless both him and God as well, and it is in the strong name of Jesus Christ, our Savior that I pray these things.
Terrence don't believe that all of those guys are Dawgs - some may be Dan Mullen lol, still trying to get Gilbert.
Again, I hope where ever Arik plays college football, he has 2 more great seasons, puts on a show at the Combine and has a long and fulfilling professional career. I do hope Arik makes it back to Athens for those 2 seasons. Arik and Darnell, when healthy, could just get us over the top.
Go Dawgs!
I am behind Arik 100%. He is in my prayers for speedy recovery form what issues he has. Can't wait to have him back!!!
I hope what ever issues he is going through he is able to see them through and finds acceptance in what ever Gods plans are.
As for football its a game and in the big picture of life means nothing
I think for the most part posters at Dawgnation have been respectful and supportive. Hopefully Arik will get through this and have a long career ahead of him.
God bless him and he has my prayers.
To me, the "next man up" thing is only for the team.
