Yes, I saw that blow up with Ringo and assumed it was for something Kelee did. Boy was I wrong!
I like Smart's approach to the situation. Kirby shows us and Ringo a teaching moment...gotta love it!
Yeah, listening to the commentators was pretty funny, too. Guy was like, "guess Ringo's out for the day," but then he was in about two plays later...
Ultimately, Smart's comments were very complimentary. In fact, that's about as effusive as he gets, meaning Ringo is holding his own among the best competition in college ball. Go Dawgs!
My bad. I assumed (wrongly) that Ringo made the mistake -- twice. Hopefully, he really did learn from it and it will help him down the line.
Now my question is, did anyone notice whether Brini -- the actual offender -- was pulled from the game, too?
It's up to the player to absorb coaching, nobody can just say it WILL make any particular player better. It's up to Ringo's attitude and aptitude.
Sounds like based on Ringo's subsequent comments, he absorbed it and is already adjusting his attitude. Combined with his elite skills and football IQ, he's bound to be even better. Go Dawgs!
Some players repeat behaviors throughout their careers, even after apologizing and saying they won't make the same mistakes. I think it's likely Ringo will control himself better, but we can't know for sure.
The young man has a lot of ability.
