I would love to see Chris Smith return next year - he played really well this year before getting hurt. I LOVE the replays of his interception against Clemson. That set the tone in that game!
It does not bode well for THIS season if these guys are thinking about the Senior Bowl NOW. THEY ALL worked extremely hard FOR THIS MOMENT to be distracted from the attainable TEAM goal now for individual goals.
If accepting an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl is going to distract them from being able to concentrate on the playoffs, then they aren't very mentally strong. It's not as if they're negotiating a contract. Most of these kids already know whether they plan to return to UGA next year so accepting the Senior Bowl invitation is just the next step in the process.
This would be no different than you planning to attend a work conference AN ENTIRE MONTH after you finished a 6 month project. If you think a colleague or client would pass judgement for that then you’re simply out of touch.
Heartbreaking, yes. Historical, far from it. Some UGA fans pout and wallow in misery too much for me.
Who gets whispered in the ear this year by someone and makes a mistake and comes out and ends up on the practice squad and eventually cut?
Too many Alabama players come back and become high round draft choices and too many UGA players leave early and become low round draft choices or FA's.
Something sure distracted them for the SECCG. So you're saying they're not mentally strong instead of being more easily distracted young adults?
