Love the man's confidence! Will go a long way in sustaining his NFL career! DGD!
Man, this class of guys! Generational, but I hope not. Certainly the shere volume will be hard to match, but we can hope.
Devonte and Jordan, along with a few of the other older guys, were the difference. There is no substitute for player leadership in areas we (and even the coaches at UGA) don't see on a daily basis. Their maturity was the glue that kept things together and allowed things to look and be so solid on the outside. A lot of teams work out early in the morning and put in the time, etc, etc...they just don't have the guys who have stayed and persevered, who have invested and have the sweat equity to prove it. Having leaders like the Dawgs did was far and away the X factor.
We are now seeing the results of the UGA culture change that CKS initiated. I can only think of 1 other program that elicits the same level of commitment and buy in. One of the main reasons CKS has built an (THE?) elite CFB program. FU w/Mullin would recruit anybody he thought could help him catch up to UGA. He didn't care what problems they were. It cost him his job. Building a program with these types of players and foundation will keep UGA markedly ahead of just about all other programs.
And let's not forget Coach Scott's role in all this. Not only is he an elite recruiter and coach, he's proving to be an elite builder of young men UGA fans are so proud of.
Btw UGADad20, glad to see someone else referring to our reptilian rivals to the south as the FU gators. There's not a team more deserving of those initials.
