Tennessee Nov. 5 Athens, GA
Georgia Tech Nov. 26 Athens, GA
Need to bring the Florida game home every other year and do these non-conference neutral site games as home/home series with the college. If you think it takes playing in Atlanta to make it a "marquee" or "brand-building" game, just look at what happens to Happy Valley (Penn State) when Ohio State or ND (or Auburn) come to town. There is NO lack of national attention whatsoever. In fact, its probably more exciting because you get to see one of the Team's fan base in full.
The neutral site games are a net-negative to all (UGA season ticket holders; cities/counties near UGA, local business; UGA recruiting process, etc.) but the UGA Athletic Assoc,. its Staff and Board members who are wined, dined, smoozed and swagged during the whole process.
Couldn't agree more. I remember when the GAvFL Game was played every year, in the Gator Bowl. There was a time and place for that game and it was long before ESPN and the etworks were allowed to televise the game of their choice every Saturday.
The neutral site appeal has passed. It's time to update our paradigm and bring it home. FLA gets far more out of this arrangement than UGA, so naturally, they want to maintain the status quo.
