    If there are two SEC teams, one won’t be Tennessee. Since Bama is out, the only way two SEC teams get in is if LSU upsets Georgia and represents the SEC and the Dawgs would get the nod for the at-large bid.

    Imagine the chaos should Georgia and Ohio State get upset in their conference championships!

    Anytime someone states “Not taking anything away from x, y, or z”, whatever comes next takes away from X, Y, and Z.

    This is another reason I am against expanding the playoffs to 12 teams.

    You are taking away the importance of these very exciting regular season matchups that happen by the dozens during the regular season and isolating them to 3 or 4 game matchups in the playoffs. Yes, 3 or 4 matchups in the playoffs out of a possible total 9 to 11 total playoff games. The other remaining playoff games will be absolute blowouts, just like 95% of the semifinal playoff matchups have been since 2014.

    Thats the magic and excitement of these superb regular season matchups that match 2 titan teams against each other with the better “team” prevailing. You can’t cry or make excuses about it being at a competitors home environment because it rotates every year and your team just needs to conquer the adversity and beat the team put in front of them regardless of venue.

    Alot of times I’ve heard fellow Dawg fans talk about the coulda, shoulda, woulda of the 2007 football team and how they were cheated out of competing for the Natty and if they would have played in that BCS game, they would have won. Not this Dawg fan, not even the month after the game was played.

    What was my rationale? Because Georgia went to Knoxville and got the snot kicked out of them. UT was up 28 to 0 at halftime. Did the VOLS 102k fans have anything to do with that? Probably a little. But either way, the Dawgs win that game on the road and they get a chance at the promise land even with an embarrassing home loss to SC with 2nd year Stafford as the QB.

    But most fans I consort with did not make excuses and complain about what coulda happened.

    That is what Neuhiesal and others need to accept. UT had their chance for 60 minutes between the chalked lines and they did not measure up. The BULLDAWGS did.

    Now as far as the playoff is concerned in January? If the Dawgs take care of business and defeat UK, the bugs, and then defeat LSU, there is no question they will be number 1. However the other plays out, they should play the WEAKEST and lowest ranked team of the remaining 3. IMO it would be wrong if that is UT in the semifinal round. UGA should not have to vanquish them for a second time to get to the championship round, and neutral site has nothing to do with it. Having an undefeated regular season as well as a Conference Championship has to do with it. That should earn them the lowest ranked and least strong team out of the 4 as their matchup. They shouldn’t have to defeat UT twice to do that. Now if UT makes it and they play someone else in the semifinal AND win? Then it is on and IMO UT will have “earned” the chance to defeat the Dawgs in the NC title game.

    "The Vols had seven pre-snap penalties and six false starts".....Well Rick, your ignorance of SEC football and particularly The Dawg Nation is palpable.....First, allow me to elucidate the fact that noise level did not cause Tennessee's pre-snap miscues. It was the fact that those linemen knew they were about to get their azzkicked when the ball was snapped....anxiety will cause one to flinch! As for playing in a neutral environment, Dawg Nation Travels....just ask Coach Kelly and the ND folks.

    Meh, I've noticed that everyone (mostly vol fans) who have new found confidence now focus entirely on why the Vols offense will be better, but they fail to acknowledge that the Dawgs offense did whatever they wanted to in the first half. That is unlikely to change in Atlanta. The vols were exposed in Knoxville last year too...and spare the excuse of that being Hooker's first season. They had "opportunities" then too that were disrupted by an aggressive DL. There are no secrets or smoke and mirrors...man for man, UGA is better.

    Assume all the top 6 teams win out. (outside Ohio state Michigan game). TCU is in with undefeated record and big 12 championship. The winner of Ohio State - Michigan is in, if they win the big 10 championship. UGA is in if undefeated and sec champions. Then, it's down to having two big 10 teams or 2 sec teams. If TCU loses, you could have 2 and 2! I hope if UT makes it in, they get in at #3. That way, if uga and UT win, you'd have an all sec EAST national championship and media heads would explode. If TCU wins, I predict the selection committee will put a one loss Michigan in over a one loss Tennessee. Not saying it's fair. But just seems sec gets no respect.

    So, the fact that Hooker was sacked 6 times, hurried a bunch of others, intercepted once, Vols could not run the ball has nothing to do, with the loss? How about the fact that UT could not stop the uga offense in the second half, from bleeding the clock? Did the crowd cheer against the uga OFFENSE? Nonsense. Crowd was a factor. But UGA defense was thr main factor.

    If noise were the losing factor for TN...then UGA would have lost every game at TN. Specious reasoning. UGA defense and offense won the game, Rick. It is that uncomplicated. Crowd helps but does not determine the outcome of a game. UGA would relish a rematch with TN...to that point.;

    Keep saying it, Mr Neuheisel. Over and over. All the way up until game time, if the game happens.

    Saban and Bama is the only team with the political wherewithal to make it into the playoffs as a second SEC team. If we have learned anything about the playoff committee, the rankings leading up to the one that matters is nothing more than window dressing to create talking points for the national media.

    Last year, the Dawgs were undeniably one of the top four teams losing in their conference championship. The committee will do everything possible to avoid the heat of once again taking two SEC teams. They will be pulling hard for UGA in the SECCG!
