To be selected a consensus All-American, players must be chosen to the first team on at least three of the five official selectors as recognized by the NCAA: The Associated Press, the American Football Coaches Association, the Football Writers Association of America, the Walter Camp Football Foundation and the Sporting News. The AP, FWAA and the WCFF have now released their All-American teams. Still waiting on the SN and AFCA All-American teams.
With the AP selection, Carter and Smith are now consensus All Americans. Brock Bowers is also a first team All American according to the FWAA. To make consensus, Bowers must be chosen by both of the remaining selectors.
Brock Bowers was selected First Team All-American by the FWAA. If he gets selected first team by the two remaining bodies he will be a consensus All_American.
