Ugh. To think that Ohio State went from Ezekiel Elliot rushing for 230 yards against a Kirby Smart-run Alabama defense in 2014 under Urban Meyer - and this was with a 3rd string future Arena Leaguer at QB - to publicly acknowledge that they aren't even going to try to run the ball under Ryan Day. And keep in mind: this is against a UGA front seven that is nowhere near as good as last year's, which had Jordan Davis, Devonta Wyatt, Travon Walker, Nakobe Dean, Quay Walker, Channing Tindall and Nolan Smith. And where Meyer was going head to head with the SEC powers in recruiting and landing future NFL talent, Ryan Day is whining about how unfair the recruiting system is.
I don't expect Ohio State to win. because they are missing a pair of first round picks on offense. But if Ohio State gets embarrassed like Michigan did against a much more talented UGA team last year, I say that Ohio State should start the process of "encouraging" Day to look elsewhere. He is looking more and more like Lincoln Riley as time goes on. The Buckeyes have a tradition of recruiting tough football players and using them to run the football and play defense. Day is ruining that tradition with flag spreadball. In 10 years he will have completely destroyed the foundations of that program just like those knuckleheads at Auburn and Tennessee have.
It's amazing watching what these former Bama-Saban players are saying about both programs these days.
Last week McElroy said when he watches Alabama practice, he doesn't recognize it. When he watches Georgia practice, it's more focused, with more buy-in and more energy. It looks like the practices when he played at Alabama.
I'm beginning to wonder, how much of that Bama dynasty was because of Saban and how much of it was because of Kirby.
