You missed the biggest loser…Kelee Ringo! Dude has lost all confidence, got burned a lot. I know it’s Marvin Harrison, but he also got touched by Kentucky, GT, and LSU…his draft stock has been plummeting the past few weeks
You missed the biggest winner—Stetson Bennett taking his team on his shoulders during the fourth quarter and the final possession for a record setting performance. The first 14 point come from behind win in CFP history and the most passing yards in the fourth quarter. Simply legendary!
Yeah, Ringo has been living off that one play against Alabama. I never understood the high draft rank assessment on him. I honestly hope he does well for himself personally and has a long and prosperous career but good grief, we really need him to step up and be the DB everyone expects him to be and I believe he can be because he has not.

Not going to argue about Ringo’s performance the last few games because it hasn’t been above average by any means, but his draft stock is based on his speed and measurables, not cherry picking of performances.
He is a guaranteed first round draft pick in April, barring a severe injury on January 9th. He checks every single box for EXACTLY what the NFL is looking for in a CB. You can take that to the bank.
Every single mock draft has him going in the top 15 and it’s because the NFL is hurting for top notch DB’s. NFL Coaches will teach and coach him up on how to be a better PRO.
You can’t just talk about his failures without his successes. That’s just disingenuous.
Does he need to play better and have more positive body language in games? Sure. But I don’t know what’s going on in his head. Coach Smart and Muschamp will get him on the right page over the next 8 days.

Dawg fans, this TCU team is really, really good. Like us, they are physical, very tough, have some speed at key positions and Max Duggan is my favorite non-Georgia player in college football. We’re gonna have to play a great game to win. Let’s go, Dawgs!!!
Ringo needs to stop taking glances back at the QB. That’s been his primary issue and one that can be coached out of him.
I'm with you on a balanced view on Ringo. No clue on where/if he'll go in the NFL draft, and he DOES need to pick things up quite a bit, but in times when the D-line isn't giving 5+ seconds to the QB for passing, he seems to do reasonably well.
On another note (now that I actually get to comment on a Connor article), I could not disagree more on CJ Stroud as a "loser"... game or otherwise. The QB did NOT lose the game, the team did, and arguably some coaching decisions by OSU saved the Dawgs, not bad play.
CJ Stroud played a magnificent game, showed amazing sportsmanship when he shook off the loss and immediately jogged over to congratulate SBIV, and showed he was a legit Heisman contender, IMHO. I'm sure a bunch of NFL teams saw that performance and are clammoring for a leader and performer like that. Whether the Peach Bowl, CFB in general, or life, this guy seems like a real winner to me 👍
I get the comments about Ringo given he has the biggest profile assignments but if you re-watch that game with an open mind, you will see he played a pretty good game. When Stroud would allude the pressure, the receivers would then start to move from their routes and go into backyard football route running and no DB regardless of how good, can effectively cover a good WR for 5-7 seconds. That is what was being asked of him, and if you look at the initial coverage on the routes, he was locked in. I absolutely get the frustration, but to be fair to him, he played a good game and we just need to make sure the pressure gets home or the QB is in a box and can’t look for open receivers for 5 seconds or greater. Go DAWGS
One last thing - a BIG loser has to be the officiating crews in these games. There have been terrible calls all over but in this game, there was only 1 holding call on OSU and if you watch that game, there were blatantly obvious holds on each pass rush. When you watch any time there wasn’t a double team on UGA’s DL, they broke through quickly, but the double teams is where the holding was very evident. I get you can’t call everything but the holding by OSU was so egregious, it created a competitive imbalance in this game. College football needs to figure something out concerning the officiating - it is getting ridiculous. Go DAWGS
One of the biggest plays of the game was Brock's matrix move to get that 1st down and then of course the hit by bullard( I think he got Defensive MVP if I'm not mistaken. Maybe he should get a winner nod! Loser- Jack Pod, come on man. Have you already checked out? We need you!
I agree 100%!!! On multiple websites and articles I have read the exact same opinions. So it isn't just an isolated comment. When so many people notice the exact same thing, then there must be some substance to it. On the final OSU drive of the game, Stroud breaks free for a 30 yard run. Watch how one of the O-linemen grabs and throws one of our D-linemen to the ground. Like you said, this was not an isolated incident.
It became 7 on7 much of the game and with a great QB the offense wins. It took us to the 4th quarter to get a couple of stops. I think they relaxed and celebrated a little early. I said early on whoever has the momentum late is going to win. We got it. Hard tohold the momentum all game long. THey almost did.
IMHO, in the end, there was no loser from that game on either side. As much as my frustration grew during the game with things we did and didn't do, every player gave it their all out there for 60 minutes. Both teams fought hard and played well. Unfortunately, one team had to lose. But both teams deserve recognition.
So, according to people who know, BB was sick going into the game, which could be why he wasn't targeted as much, and yet it speaks to his determination and desire even when sick to lay it all out there for his team!
If you havent seen the hit on Harrison from back of the endzone camera view, You need to look it up! it is an absolutely text book hit, really not as close to targeting as it appeared from the camera angle it showed during the game. It was an easy call for the crew. One of UGA's greatest hits. Pardon the pun! He definitely makes the catch for a TD if not for the hit. Someone said he stepped out of bounds first, but I didn't see that.
There's a connection between Stroud's scrambling success and our thin edge-rushing crew.
For much of the game, we created pressure up the middle but Stroud was able to escape by scrambling left or right. Then, he'd make a big play either with his arm or his feet. If Nolan Smith had started, if Chambliss hadn't gone down in the second quarter and then if Beal and Williams hadn't been hampered by cramps (directly related to the absence of the first two guys), we'd have kept him bottled up a bit better.
I'm not saying he wouldn't have hurt us at all if we weren't undermanned in those positions. And those two excellent tackles made it hard for our guys to set the edge. But maybe, we'd have sacked him six times instead of four. Maybe, he doesn't complete that amazing scramble to the right before he hit Harrison in the corner of the endzone. Maybe, they don't score 31 points in the games middle two quarters.
I totally get why Mike dubbed Stroud and our edge rushers "losers." He didn't seem to mean it as an insult as much as a statement of fact. Stroud, tragically for the Buckeyes, literally was a loser. And our edge rushers have got to figure out some way to handle Duggan and company without two of our best outside linebackers.

A great example of the poor officiating was the fake punt play.
Did you all notice that tOSU had 12 men on the field when the play was run before it was stopped due to the timeout whistle? None of the announcers even mentioned it as if it was a non-event.
Point is that if the timeout was not timely , I am not sure if the referees would have flagged it….because I am not sure they saw it.
Thankfully, because of Coach Kirby, it was a non-issue

Duggan is more of a run threat than Stroud was but not as much as a passing threat as Stroud. Not saying he can't throw, he can. But if you had to choose one QB to not have to defend against the pass you're choosing Stroud.
TCU wants to run the ball to set up play action similar to us. THey ran it well against Michigan. It was alarming how well they did. I don't think Michigan was expecting their toughness. Everyonwe just attributed that to MIchigan. Maybe Michigan fell into that trap.
Now the question is will TCU seeing what LSU did and what Stroud did depart from their identity and try to throw it around the yard?
