@gafanlivinginal You Could have just given CJ the much deserved credit he is due. I can’t understand why you felt the need to prop up CJ using Stetson to push off from. Not Stetson or the Bennett family’s fault that CJ’s Dad went to prison. Not Stetson or the Bennett family’s fault that CJ might have had difficulty getting new cleats. I suppose Stetson’s family should have withheld new cleats from him to make people in CJ’s situation feel better ? Not Stetson or the Bennett family’s fault that CJ needed school assistance. And lastly on those notes have you shadowed CJ every where he goes on and off campus to make sure he hasn’t used crude language ? Yes it Does show much character and heart on CJs part that he over came those things to succeed. Shows he’s a young man of Great character. But I would kindly ask you to Please not try to build up CJ at the cost of tearing down Stetson. Thank You.

Marvin Harrison getting hurt was not the reason they lost...in their minds or in reality. He was only targeted 3 times after the 10 minute mark of the 2nd quarter. The reason OSU lost was CJ, Fleming, and Egboku got no help from the running game because UGA controlled the line of scrimmage battle despite exhibiting poor gap control in actually containing Stroud. UGA came back from down 14 to take a lead with Harrison on the field, and again with him on the sideline. Outside of Ohio State possibly letting it get in their heads, it made no difference from what I watched. The first half and the second half were quite similar....just in the first half OSU got the TD for the lead, and in the second half, they missed the FG to do the same.

People are really making more narratives about this game than they need to.

Crude language? Prudes...ya know they say those who use colorful language actually have generally higher IQs...makes sense, it doesn't artificially limit one's vocabulary and allows for overall better expression.

I can guarantee you nothing you heard from Bennett is worse than what ACTUALLY is said in the locker room and as far as overcoming adversity...Bennett has plenty of that. Stroud was a 5 star recruit, everyone wanted him - past or not - including Georgia. Bennett has had to fight, claw, and grind just to get on a campus, let alone win a starting job. Don't even get me started on how the fanbase has treated him (me included). The struggles they have faced may be at different times of their life, and the specifics may be different, but everyone being critical of Bennett's arm strength or height when they at the same time drool over Bryce Young who is the same height and arm strength directly impacts Bennett's ability to earn a paycheck at the next level in the future, and how well he can provide for his family. Everyone has struggles and demons - they aren't unique. Both are equally high character. Bennett may have come from a loving, law-abiding, solid home, but that doesn't mean his life has been some silver spoon.

For the record, I have zero interest in the NFL.

    Thank you, @navydawg.

    Go, Dawgs!

In your own words.. Stroud has 2 possible 1st round WR's to throw to at osu, and a 1st round RB. I'm all DAWG, but I don't see a 1st round NFL draft pick at RB or WR for UGA, McIntosh possibly the 2nd round. I also hear you harp on how UGA only gets 2nd tier WR's that nobody else wants. So, to say Stroud equals what Stetson has as a Bulldog, with no 1st round WR's, or 1st round RB at UGA, that you say osu has, is completely ridiculous!

Debate, bebate and debate about CJ and Stetson, UGA won and OSU lost, that's all that matters, now on to the ninth of January and TCU.

It doesn’t diminish anything Bennett has done by recognizing the quality of the play of Stroud. He is an excellent QB and really showed it on the field. The biggest difference is that Stroud is the reason OSU was a high quality competitor and played well enough to win and UGA has so many complementary players that make that equation work. It’s not either/or but to cite stats for one game with Bennett and then defend that stats aren’t the best measure of a QB’s value (which i agree with) doesn’t make sense. One of the best college QBs I’ve ever seen was Danny Wuerffel and he didn’t make a great NFL QB but it certainly doesn’t diminish how solid of a college QB he was. Bennett is perfect for this team and has a great opportunity to be viewed as the best UGA has produced from a winning perspective. Never have to buy a drink or dinner in Jawga forever. Go Bennett and Go DAWGS.

    @thadec

Keep the posts coming my man. I know you like to stir the pot a bit but it's often a welcome antidote to the blind homerism that's so common in this comment section.

Everyone who's not a Dawg fan will acknowledge that Stroud is a "more talented" QB than Bennett - that doesn't denigrate Bennett in the slightest. He's done a fantastic job and is an inspirational story.

Exactly @Henddawg . Why does a good story about C.J. Stroud, which is headlined about his praise for UGA, merit such condemnation of him? What did he say that was bad? Writing something good about him doesn't IN ANY WAY take away from what Stetson Bennett did. And there are, were and will be plenty written on this site and elsewhere about how Stetson Bennett came to the rescue when needed. Yes, Stroud and OSU lost, but that in no way means that his play and character can't be recognized. It takes NOTHING away from Stetson Bennett. It's called Sportsmanship.

You're right...especially about the "narratives", Lol. I knew that would happen. Either way, "win, lose or draw"...somehow, OSU was the team to beat, even though the Dawgs are undefeated. "Excuses", if they lose..."expected, but, iconic" if they win.

Lmao...none of the ESPN backed teams won, and their chosen Heisman candidates...the ones they pushed...all lost. With the exception of the Natty. Bennett and Duggin are still worthy of the Heisman. IMO

@navydawg ...What a lot of people don't know, is that Bennett was born and raised in a poverty stricken County that didn't have High School football. He had to move to Blackshear, in order to play there. I had to do the same thing, when I was a kid. It's not easy and the coaches at smaller schools here in SE GA aren't exactly Lombardi wannabes. The really good ones, either coach in SW Ga (Valdosta, Moultrie, etc)...or they move up North, like Camden County's coach did several years ago.

Don't assume a guy had it easy or hard...just based on the color of his skin...or his last name. Seems the "Press" has made a living doing that far too long. When are we gonna reach that "Promised Land", MLK so eloquently described? We're still waiting, cause the people with the most to gain from civil division...won't let it go. Too much money in racism. That's the problem.

End of speech...Lol. How was your Christmas/New Year? Hope you and the Dawgs have a great 2023!

Go back to work, boys. Only 1 more week, and you'll be legendary. 🤞🤞
