BoBo averaged just 20 points per game as our OC against FLorida in 7 years. Maybe he's gotten better. I thought we had Stafford and AJ Green during those years?

Bobo is a battle tested OC. He didn't have much to work with in the Richt days, because of recruiting. He left uga for HC position, which did not work out. UGA might be in the envious position of having an OC (Bobo) and DC (Muschamp), who didn't fare well as HC's and could make UGA their career for many years. A guy can dream.

That was quick! We knew this was going to happen when Monken left, we just wished that he would've stayed one more season at least. Bobo has great talent to work with not like his tenues at CSU, So. Carolina and Auburn. I hope Bobo has picked up a few good things from Monken to add to his arsenal. Go Dawgz rumble.😎

They had Stafford, Moreno (forgotten by UGA fans these days because he didn't pan out in the NFL), Green and nothing else. That was the problem. Name the last national champion that didn't have 3 future high NFL draft picks - or 5 upperclassmen with starting experience - on their offensive line. That is why Richt's SEC titles all came early in his tenure when he was still playing Jim Donnan's OL (and DL) recruits. Donnan was a great recruiter but was average with Xs and Os. Richt was very good with Xs and Os but was an average recruiter. Smart is successful because he combines Richt's coaching prowess with the Donnan recruiting.

@MikeGriffith: I'm trying to figure out who you meant by four OL starters returning. Isn't it just the two guards and the center? Or were you counted TE as part of the OL?

I am pretty sure Smart and Bobo have "talked." It will be Monken style for awhile at least...with a dash of RBU..for certain. That is more Bob's style.

Two things that he would have picked up right off the bat:

Use of tight ends with Brock Bowers and Oscar Delp coming back.

Ladd McConkey, Arian Smith, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, Dillon Bell and the new guys at WR and how to utilize them.....as in not all bubble screens.

    I like it!

    Go Dawgs!

What are you talking about? Richt was a very good recruiter. Maybe not at the level of Smart but he was top ten just about every year.

Not sure about this hire. I never liked Bobo that much and always questioned his play calling years ago when he was leading the Dawg's offense.

Only hope Bobo he learned a few things from Monken...nothing to do about it but wait and see.

Maybe Todd will leave his playbook and "what-to-do-if-this-happens" answer sheets for Bobo to follow!!

Transfer portal may get active for some folks come May 1st...

Think you pegged it UGA66.....Monken style with the Bobo smile. There is no doubt that we will continue to spread the ball around to every play maker on the field.

Barely ever had any 5 stars. Never really had that top class in the conference. Didn't really load up on position groups like Smart does. Like signing 4-6+ DBs in almost every class. It's also not like we weren't lacking talent. Just not enough of it. Smart pretty much is close to having a full man next man up. Whether thru recruiting or practicing.
