Seems like a fairly honest assessment. Like the self awareness. Learn from it and keep improving.

Sounds like BVG is well schooled. Game is starting to slow down for him. 4 drops did not help his numbers. He also forced some balls that lacked touch. All that comes with experience.

CBeck played well. Looked comfortable. Too comfortable. He had a pristine pocket. The key will be under real fire when he has to move. CBeck reminds me a lot of Matt Ryan. When he (Matt Ryan) can get comfortable, get set and get his whole body into the throw he can make all/most of the throws and is accurate. Matt Ryan lacked the mobility and arm strength to make the same throws when he wasn't set, comfortable or couldn't get his whole body behind his arm. What will CBeck do with pocket pressure? We will see.

    1. Why didn't the Falcons just build Matt Ryan a better offensive line instead of overpaying for overrated receivers, defensive backs and pass rushers?
    2. Funny how you mention the one dropback passer who didn't win a Super Bowl as opposed to the guys (Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, TOM BRADY, UGA PRODUCT MATT STAFFORD, Pat Mahomes just this past year on one leg, Nick Foles, Joe Flacco). Lots of them beat the far more mobile QBs in the Super Bowl game (Steve McNair, Donovan McNabb, Russell Wilson, Cam Newton, Jalen Hurts, Pat Mahomes on two legs, Joe Burrow). Why is that? Also: the common thread on all those teams? A great offensive line. Pat Mahomes on two legs lost to Brady. The Chiefs spent the next two years ditching Tyreek Hill and their other expensive skill players in favor of building their OL into the best in football - the opposite of what the Falcons did - and won. Also, note the difference between Matt Stafford spending 15 years being a pinata in Detroit and his MVP season going virtually untouched with the Rams.
    3. And what does UGA have this upcoming season? A definite first round draft pick at center (unusual because centers don't go in the first round) and a likely first round pick at LT, plus a pair of guards that will be off the board in top 100 picks. Meaning precisely the supporting cast needed to take advantage of a pocket passer.

Next year, when UGA has to replace their entire interior OL and (likely) Mims at LT? Great. Have a battle between Beck and BVG for the starting job. Unless Beck puts up huge numbers and heads to the NFL - a real possibility as Beck will have already spent 5 years in school and have 2 national titles - in which case it is a battle between BVG and Gunner Stockton. But this year? Beck having all day to throw downfield to Brock Bowers is something that no college team is going to be able to stop.

Yeah, you won't find many sources out there arguing anything other than Beck being WAY ahead of the other 2 and I'd suspect that if you were to poll Georgia fans I'd bet a large percentage would say that Stockton is more ready than Vandagriff.

My concern is that I'm not sure Vandagriff is growing/learning fast enough at the 2 1/4 years of being at Georgia. Certainly Beck has grown quite a bit in the past year and it may be that Vandagriff will get there... but I have to wonder if Stockton is going to surpass him during that time.

    1) wow do you really believe ANY team can build an OL that can keep a pass rush off the QB all the time? Can't be done. To even suggest it calls you into question. Again you think you make a point that cannot be made. Against good teams SBIV got pressured. CBeck will too.

Even though the Falcons have been mismanaged and have drafted very poorly no one can build an OL that could keep an immobile and weaker armed QB like Ryan clean all the time. Why do you think teams highly value mobility at the QB position? SMH

    2) What's your point? Immobile QB's can win? The last Manning SB was 8 years ago. The NFL has evolved in 8 years. Oh and Eli's BIGGEST SB play (HUGE pass completion to David Tyree) was on a SCRAMBLE play where he should've been sacked. Brady is Brady (and the outlier). BTW 2 of Brady's SB's were gifts (Sea and ATL). Brady became the master of dumping the ball before the pressure got him. Mahomes is very mobile and has a gun for an arm. As does Stafford.

You really counting Brady beating RWilson in the SB? Are you really trying to make that point? LOL

"When he (Matt Ryan) can get comfortable, get set and get his whole body into the throw he can make all/most of the throws and is accurate. Matt Ryan lacked the mobility and arm strength to make the same throws when he wasn't set, comfortable or couldn't get his whole body behind his arm". That is most/all QB's not just Ryan.

Mobility gives you a chance to make a play. We haven't seen what CBeck can do yet when moved off his spot. Does he have more arm/mobility than Matt Ryan? IDK too early to tell. But he reminds ME of Matt Ryan. Not necessarily a 35 yo Matt Ryan. That isn't necessarily a bad thing. CJ Stroud almost beat UGA because he could move in the pocket. The game came down to 3 plays that UGA made. Any 1 of them flips the outcome.

Next year's UGA OL will be very interesting. UGA has not recruited OL of the caliber of all the 5*'s that have passed through in the last 5 yrs.
