Why ESPN FPI, you must have missed it...UGA has a new mascot ...Boom! Surely that would have boosted the UGA rating? The built-in ESPN bias is getting moldy. Come on.

How do you figure that UGA is returning more production than Ohio State?
Ohio State and UGA both lost their starting QBs so that is a wash.
Ohio State returns their top 3 RBs where UGA lost their #1.
Ohio State returns ALL of their WRs and TEs except Smith-Njiba (who basically didn't play last year) where UGA lost their 1A TE Darnell Washington as well as their #2 and #3 WRs Kearis Jackson and Dom Blaylock.
The only area where Ohio State lost more than UGA is the OL, as the Buckeyes lost 3 starters to UGA losing 2 starters and a key reserve that started 14 games in 2021 (basically a slight difference there).
Not saying that Ohio State should be preseason #1. UGA should be. But Ohio State returns a pair of 1000 yard receivers plus 3 tailbacks with over 500 yards (one of them with over 800) despite none of them being healthy for more than 8 games.
I'm OK with #3...even though you must consider this is coming from ESPN and their rating system is all based on AI...Artificial Intelligence where the key is artificial or not real/fake....the only ranking that means or matters comes as the buzzer signals the expiration of time in the NC game......The DAWGS Threepeat!

I got it from another ESPN metric: Bill Connelly's "Returning Production." Georgia's 80th with 61 percent, Alabama's 125th with 40 percent and Ohio State's further back. The big difference between us and those two is in returning defensive production, according to Connelly.
Interestingly, the top tier team with the most production returning is Michigan -- 5th with 81 percent.

The ole chip ( Boulder in KS case) is now in place !! By the way OSU does have a better O Line than UGA……..Yeah their better at Holding on at least one out of every three snaps and not getting caught !!
