ATHENS — Following the conclusion of Georgia’s spring game, Kirby Smart meant it when he said he felt good about all three of the team’s quarterback options.

Brock's a smart guy... he can have his cakes and eat them all, too... be developed by the best program in the country (his hometown school), hang out in one of the coolest college towns in America/Athens GA, get a solid UGA degree, and (eventually) be the starting QB of team that has a shot at winning a natty. Keep chopping, Brock. Go Dawgs!
I could see Brock's athleticism eventually winning out the role this season once he settles down and gets some more playing time.
I see you’ve recycled the other story about Brock’s “decision” to stay. I know it’s a relatively slow news cycle, but come on. And I still can’t find anything that suggested, much less outwardly stated, that he was thinking of leaving.
Brock is a good man.
The interception he threw bounced off the hands of the receiver. Maybe he should have taken a little off the pass, but it was accurately thrown.

Well, yeah. Smart learned that from the whole get-every-top-tier-QB-and-get-them-to-compete philosophy that had us with large turnover and instead has given these 3 a large amount of time without high profile QB commits. Gunner has been part of the team for 1.25 years, Vandagriff for 2.25 and Beck for 3.25 years. Vandagriff would be foolish to transfer at this point as he still has a high percentage chance of being the starter and is almost definite if Beck has any injuries.
Adding Raiola for 2024 would be absolutely huge and perfectly timed.
And he's watched Bennett and Beck being patient.
I've said it of Beck and now Brock. Selfless, patient and quite talented! Both are team players. Great to have Gunner, too. All I can say is "play 'em Coach"! When we have a big lead, play them all. (Even the couple you never get to see...Jackson & Collin).

Speaking of quality depth, that becomes even more important in 2024 when we add a 9th SEC game and the expanded playoffs. The National Champion may simply end up being the team that has the fewest key injuries and strongest depth at all positions by the time the smoke clears in January. With our easier schedule this season, Kirby sure should be able to get those on the bench some quality game reps.
IMHO.....Brock Vandagriff has earned the initial destingution of DGD.....as has Carson Beck given his loyalty and dedication for the past several years. I attempted to explain to Paul Finebaum what being a DGD means....he didn't get it, so much for the Vol grad. I believe that earning this designation is what separates UGA from every other program in America. It is a commitment to placing every accolade previously earned aside so that you can focus every essence of your being to the G, meaning your school, team, coaches, fans, state, and most importantly doing whatever it takes to become the best student, TEAM Mate, and man that you can become. GOOOO DAWGS, SICEM gettin 3 N 23!
