The Maxwell Award is awarded to the most outstanding player in college football. While it won’t be handed out until after the season, Georgia does have one player on award’s watch list entering the 2023 season in tight end Brock Bowers.

    Syracuse junior Oronde Gadsen had a very good year last year (61 catches for 969 yds and 6 TDs) - so good for him. But for a 7-6 SU team that was middle of the pack in the weak ACC (same conference record as GaTech at 4-4). After hardly playing a freshman, he really broke out last year.

    I guess they spread the love around pre-season with this award. Do the press vote? There is a serious Syracuse mafia in the sports media given half of them major in broadcasting at Syracuse.

    BTW, Brock at 63-942-7 receiving and 9-109-3 rushing for a 2-time national champion. Don't forget the rushing.
