He reminds me a lot of that kid from Stanford...Christian Mccafferey...with a little bit of Jim Brown and Larry Zonka mixed in. Lol
BTW...There was ONE DB that I remember, getting "The Heisman". And, he played for...guess who....Media darling, "Michigan". I don't recall his name, off hand....Charles "something". Wooden or Woods...or, something like that. Lol...it'll come to me.
Charles Woodson. Lol...told ya it would come to me.
Brock Bowers deserves every accolade that can be bestowed to a player. Top notch abilities and performances, exemplory off field behavior and a humbleness that only the best can show. The culture among the best at UGA lends itself to sharing the load and the glory...Brock is so outstanding that he can share the load and glory and still be a national star, highly considered for the Heisman. He has my vote!
Y’all PLEASE forgive the off topic. But I post here allot and I feel I’m among friends not just anonymous folks in cyber world. I sure don’t mean to be a cry baby. But I got some bad news yesterday.
I went to see my oncologist for Both a routine visit and some follow up on an MRI. First let me say in ALL Sincerity Praise God I don’t have bone cancer !! I have CLL Leukemia so I’m prone to other types of cancer. But I’m doing Very good on that front.
But in Addition to her recommending me to have my Right hip replaced, which I pretty much saw that coming. It turns out I have Two separate tears in my Left knee meniscus. The medial side has tears and the lateral side has tears.
Now she as an oncologist said they Might be able to just patch it up through arthroscopic surgery. She stressed Might and said clearly that’d be a decision by an ortho surgeon. It’s definitely gonna have to have work as it also has chondromylcia ( fluid build up) and heat in it. I think that probably the orthopedic surgeon will want to do the knee first.
The thing is IF I need a total knee, well just Wow !! Because just the hip is a lengthy rehab and recovery deal by its self !! And I’d have to Wait a pretty good while to rehab and recover to get whichever the second one is done.
At 66 well on my way to 67 I ain’t like our young Dawgs !! 😂 My back also has a bunch of Issues but doesn’t require any immediate surgery, if I live long enough on down the road yeah probably.
Both my shoulders have Issues, but like my back I can slide by on them awhile. And in addition to all this Fun I have other medical issues to numerous to even go into. BUT I Know for a fact there are Plenty of people By Far worse off than me !! I’d just appreciate your prayers !! I Know deep down God’s got this !!
I’m a Very Blessed man, just belly aching and whining like a big baby !! Gosh you’d think I was a Mud Lizard fan or some thing !! 😂
OK Thank Yall for listening to my pity party !! Paging Ron Courson !! Paging Ron Courson !! God Bless you each and every one and your families !!
I Love our Dawgs, and I Love Dawgs fans !! I Love all things that are good about Dawgs football !! And the Lord Jesus Loves Me ( and You to !!) So it’s all good !!
I Really enjoy talking with Y’all on here, and have allot of respect and appreciation for your comments and football knowledge !! But Hey we All know that Dawg Nation is THE BEST fan base in ALL College Football !! Go Dawgs !!! Just a little storm in life, I appreciate Y’all loaning me an umbrella !!
Totally agree! I think there's some common character across Bowers and Tebow. Massively hard workers, team first, and humble... all while being world class at their positions while in the SEC
These are the kind of role models people need today, especially young ones...
Navydawg, so sorry to hear this.
While I'm guessing most of the posters on here don't know you personally, I'm sure that, to many like myself, it's like we DO know you from all of your DN posts... always fact-based, gracious, and full of football knowledge... therefore, much appreciated 😁
So sorry you're having to go through all this, and wish you the very best in a tough time. If things get super rough, it would be good to understand how some of us DN posters can help.
Keep the faith and hang in there!
Our prayers will include your complete recovery navydawg. I can totally relate to the orthopedic ailments connected to a life of sports. Best on the cancer related...seems all the chemicals we've been exposed to is catching up on our generation. Love you Brother......no apologies for off topic.
May God, the Father, Bless you and keep you from harm. Go easy, man.
Wow !!! I’m just over whelmed by the Compassion, Love, and Support from my fellow Dawgs fans here !! Y’all ARE the greatest !! I count myself as being So blessed and So honored and privileged to have your friendship. I assure Y’all I treasure it deeply.
Your friendship is MY greatest trophy !! Because it’s a trophy of that compassion, love, and support Yall have bestowed on me !! If Anyone here at Any time, Ever, is in need of prayer all you need do is let me know.
I Love Yall and I’m very proud to be associated to Yall. May God Bless and Protect you each and every one and your families and loved ones.
God Bless America the land of Freedom and great college football !! And God Bless the Georgia Bulldogs !! As for me I’m gonna be just fine, cause I Know I’m in His Mighty Hands !! I was just kinda depressed when I posted my original comment. But Yall have lifted my spirit in a wonderful way !! I Thank Yall with All my heart !! Go Dawgs !!
navydawg, know prayers are with you Brother Dawg....
Thank you So much Bro. !! And Thanks Again to All my Great friends here for your prayers and kindness !! I’m very blessed !!
Heartfelt wishes for swift recovery. Cancer is a nastier adversary than even the Florida Gators, but I love your attitude!
Navydog....as someone who has had both her hips replaced in the last 3 years (1 in 2021 and 1 in 2022), let me tell you: do not worry about a hip replacement. They are easy peasy, lemon squeezy. My first hip replacement was done outpatient, not a single night out of my bed. My 2nd one was an overnight stay in the hospital (different doctors, different protocols). I was up and walking with a walker the next day for both of them; back working remotely a week later. The 2nd one was done 10 weeks before my wedding, and I walked in heels without difficulty.
My point: you have enough to stress about: don't stress about hip replacements! Best wishes for a speedy and fully recovery.
Praying for you Navy! Turns out we're the same age! You got this! Just need to Hunker-Down!
navydawg, one things for sure.....gettin old ain't for sissies, BUT age brings some comforting realizations....at least to me and apparently for you too....NO MATTER WHAT COMES, if we turn it over to our FATHER in Heaven we are in the BEST place we can be because what ever happens it's GODS WILL.....my wife recently experienced a brush with death....we were in the emergency room and when see came too she asked how she was....I told her, The GOOD news is that you've got a place in eternity with our FATHER, The BAD news is that you ain't goin any time soon! navydawg, you will be in our prayers, GOD will give you the strength to get through every challenge.....The other GOOD NEWS is that you're a DAWG for eternity!
