Vandy turf was an ankle mine field! Look at the starting players down from this skating rink. I would refuse to play on it again..IMO. Vanderbilt is not worth the carnage. No Bowers now for UGA's toughest games!
Was seeing it all game. Under no circumstances should a surface like that be just part of the game. It’s not right for any player on either side to be expected to play on that.
Stated that on another thread-we will not play on this crap turf again. It's not worth risking our players health, as Vandy will always be an easy win and we have everything to lose.

IMHO, Vanderbilt is no longer worthy of SEC membership. It is not a public state flagship university and they have not made any meaningful investments int its football program or infrastructure. Time to replace them with a more worthy school like UNC, UVA or FSU.
The catch there is that football isn’t the only sport. Vandy has a very solid baseball team, as well as a few other relevant athletic involvements.
Depending on what the SEC realignment schedule Ga won't have to play Vandy every other year. No matter, the SEC should ban artificial turf. Give Vandy, Mizzou, and Kentucky a year, if not, throw them out. Clemson, FSU,and I bet UNC would jump at the chance to join our money pit.
Completely agree. I've always wondered if UGA's practice injuries from several years ago (mostly lower extremities) were due to the new (at the time) practice turf. Then, suddenly, they became less prominent. With Kirby saying they did a "surface study" and then updated the turf, that would seem to answer it 🤔
Net-net: ban turf in the SEC!
Artificial turf has always been crap. I played on it only once back in the 70s and got a hyper extended left knee and a sprained ankle on the same play.
