Portal should happen one time for 3-4 days. Then the athlete can transfer once and never again.

I completely agree with Coach. The portal, NIL, & NFL deadline are supposed “solutions” looking for an implosion. Knee jerk reactions to real issues that will make matters worse, cost incredible sums of money, harming fans & the athletes before real solutions are developed.

The NCAA received a lot of criticism for how they regulated the rules for student-athletes. Now that they are hands-off with the portal and nil deals, college athletics is like the Wild West. I think the portal and declaration for the NFL draft should happen right after the season ends for one week. After that week, the early signing of high school athletes begins. A player who transfers to a different school should be able to play immediately. If they transfer again they will have to sit out a year. They can only transfer twice.

The portal and NIL will be the death of college football. And having the portal before bowl season is a slap in the face to the fans. The NCAA has always been run by moronic mental midgets who can't see anything but dollar signs.

I don't think so. It may be crazy for a few years as things get sorted out. Eventually, there will be enough 'tragic' stories of guys overestimating their worth and finding out the hard way about life. It will all play out and come back to sanity. May take another 4-5 years but it will get there. Meanwhile, I feel we have the best coach around to navigate this.
